Choklab states this proves Louis was, "at least the same size as Foreman and Norton" Louis is middle-aged and in street clothes with street shoes on.
They are trained to the minute prime fighters about to begin a match.
For this particular fight Foreman scaled 224.75lbs Norton 212.75lbs.

    Louis when prime was
    Height Louis 6'1.5", Foreman 6'3", Norton 6'3"
    Weight Louis 200lbs,Foreman220lbs,Norton212lbs
    Biceps Louis13",Foreman15'5",Norton16"
    Chest Louis41",Foreman43",Norton 44.5"
    Neck Louis16.25",Foreman 17.5",Norton 17"
    Reach Louis 76",Foreman78.5",Norton79"

Anyone agree with Choklab's statement ?

Does he look bigger than them? I don’t know, but he most definitely doesn’t look smaller than them.

It doesn’t look like he’d suffer a size disadvatange against either, whatsoever.

Even if he is wearing stilts, looks at his head and shoulders compared to theirs. He’s a naturally big hefty man.

The funny thing is if your propose Joe Louis vs. Foreman, people will picture a man vs giant image in their heads.

It happens to me, so I assume it happens to you guys too.

But then you see this clip, and it kind of challenges those knee jerk visualizations.

It even happens with Liston vs Louis matchups. We imagine Sonny as this much bigger guy, when really he isn’t. I wonder why we’re subconsciously tempted to see Joe Louis as smaller than he actually was?

Louis won the title scaling197.25lbs Foreman was 217.5lbs that is 18.25lbs more ,he was an inch and a half taller
Louis was under 200lbs for 4 of his title defences and under 205lbs for a further 15 ,that's 19 defences at under 205lbs.

They are not comparable in size and anyone who is honest can see it ,and should admit it!

I agree he might be slightly shorter given that he is wearing street shoes but definitely comparable in size absolutely!very interesting clip!

A phrenologist would definitively label this man a heavyweight based on the size of his head.

How pounds look on a person depends on their build, doesn't it?
I mean a very fit man or woman, very muscular, could weigh the same
as another person that looks much bigger. The fit person could be
denser in body mass. A pound of fat weighs the same as a pound of
muscle but takes up more room.

Louis looked as "big" as Foreman because he probably weighed as much as
    Foreman did at the time...
his boxing weight was surely not the same as his weight walking around
    20 yrs later.

Well we know you are incapable of honest objectivity don't we.Just for the record you are agreeing with Choklab that Louis was easily the same size as Foreman and Norton?

I'm saying there's not much height difference between the 3 of them, to suggest so is idiotic to say the least.

This is true but inconvenient to the Earth Is Flat gang.

Fortunately we know that Foreman weighed 217.5lbs when he on the title and that Louis weighed 197.25lbs when he did.
That is a disparity of 20.25lbs!

I'm saying you are an idiot simply because Louis is in street shoes and they are in boxing shoes Louis has added poundage inretirement and they are trained active boxers..Louis according to himself was six foot one and a half inches.Foreman is listed as six foot three and a half or six foot three I'll take the lower one, which still gives us a height disparity of an inch and a half.
We also have Louis winning the title at 197.25lbs ,whereas Foreman scaled 217.5lbs another disparity of 20.25lbs .
But you carry on denying the obvious, it's what you do!

Foreman was a strong man. So was Norton. And Joe Louis was never small. He gives the appearance of being about the same. Measuring by tape is not really so accurate. Hair and posture can distort height. And the difference between a loose or tight circumference measurement can make the same chest, wrist or waist vary by inches.

Wing span reach dosnt really always show who can land from the furthest distance since shoulders and fingers are taken into it.

Obviously weight must be accurate but even then sometimes guys weigh in wearing shoes.

One thing for sure Max Baer made joe Louis look small. I wonder how tall Baer might have been billed in a later era?

    I agree with choklab.:eusa_dance:
