Can anything be done to build Wilder's profile in a short period of time?

Actually I'm a fan of Frank's I'd even pick him to KO AJ cold.:sisi1

Let me guess, they were all advertising the Wlad fight right? Regardless, he got that Klitschko rub, so obviously he's more well known in Europe.

From memory the Dubai and Thailand ones were some sort of aftershave thing. 'Smell like a champ' schtik. The point is Hearn and his team are putting in the hardwork to make AJ global whereas Wilder's team seem to be doing it on a bargain budget.

It's a short career and both AJ and Hearn want to make lots of $$$; I think Wilder's team need to be a bit more cute about this and realise they could potentially make 5x more by blasting out a plodder like Whyte for example and then having a Wembley fight next year. I really don't see what the issue is, I'm 99% sure Wilder smashes Whyte around; it's easy, big money for Wilder and Whyte also has a ridiculously high ranking so Wilder would get some props anyway.

It's a win win for everyone surely?

EDIT: I love Frank Bruno, met him once. 100% gent as you can imagine.

Wilder would have the best hw resume by far IF HIS GOD DANG OPPONENTS truly believed they could make it multiple rounds without getting stretched.

IDGAF people have made it 7,9 rounds, those were fighters strictly trying to not get ko'd. You throw shots at dw and you're getting stretched

I have a somewhat unusual suggestion.

He could fight and beat guys like Povetkin, Ortiz and maybe even Takam, Wach and some other lesser, but solid, HW fighters.

I know that this is a little "out of the box" thinking compared to dressing in a chicken suit and dancing with Beyonce', but there it is. My 2c.

Wilder should have built his profile long before AJ came along. He can only blame himself and his handlers for failing to manage his career effectively. But somehow that's now Joshua's fault.

Wilder has had 3 top stories on the BBC sport website in the last few days. All regarding a fight with Joshua. I don't know if Hearn has given a nod to the BBC but they are willing to promote what he says after beating Stiverne. That can only be a good thing for people who want the fight. I think it will happen this summer for BS marination purposes. So I would have thought it makes sense for both fighters to get a fight in before then.

fight the best and fight often. He has a big stage now. Tyson won the title in 1986 in Nov. and fought 4 times in 1987 and kept fighting a lot. Don't go a year and fight once or twice as Wilder does and then talks how great he is. Tyson is the blueprint. Fight often and prove it in the ring. Then the big fights come and Wilder will be sharp from fighting often.

Yeah, I noticed this, weird the way they are suddenly pushing Wilder... on their main page no less. And they've been heavily promoting Joshua with two documentaries so far and plenty of main page stories. So you wonder what their angle is, I mean very little chance they will get the rights to broadcast the fight. Although I suppose they could probably afford to buy the Wilder fights that don't include Joshua... what would they cost, a couple of grand?

And another today on Joshua's response to Wilder.

    http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/41915800

I heard the BBC are wanting to get more involved with sports broadcasting again. Using their website as a platform to give access to lesser sports. Can read here:

    http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/41853431

So is it possible they are looking to show more boxing. I don't see how they could afford Joshua's fights but If they get Wilder on a Jackanory followed by an appearance on the one show who knows? The sky's the limit!

i'm not an AJ fan and think ive made that clear to anyone who's seen my posts on him but to say he is ducking Wilder is just stupid. the way Hearn, sky, ifl have all of sudden started promoting this fight pretty much guarantees it is happening. and the same goes for people saying Wilder is all mouth and will end up ducking? so now you can predict the future?

his fight v Takam drew is 2.8m viewers in Germany alone, sure that might be a knock on effect from the Wlad fight but to still pull in 2.8m is insane

Inevitable Wilder-Joshua happens. The question is more of when, not if it happens.
