Is Gvozdyk now the #1 challenger..

It's highly improbable, I think.
Gvozdyk is #1 in the WBO ranking and he is also moving up the WBC elimination brackets (Baker was the first stage of it). So his team has a hell of choice to make already (unless they manage to schedule both of those somehow) without the IBF.

 

Anyone who claims to know how this fight would play out is just kidding themselves or an actual savant.

 

That’s is going to be a wicked fight. Both guys have Kovalev type power (I actually think they both hit a lil harder) and both VERY good tacticians with no quit in them. Might be FOTY with both guys having to climb off the deck. They’ll bring out the best in each other.

It's going to be a tactical fight. The Nail is chinny so he won't be leaping into the danger zone of Beterbiev, who likes to place his punches. Beterbiev is slow and methodical so he will try to slow Gvozdyk's pace.

It's going to be a boring fight. I like tactical matches, but it won't be an action fight to the casual fan. Quote me.

 

It was inevitable this guy would come along and have some problem with this fight.


One guy is chinny....Other is mechanical.....They will make for a boring fight code for he thinks they are both to scared or inept to ta exert themselves.

Look at the bright side: You have at least one E.E. to dump on but I see you are shooting for a boring fight so you can dump on them both.

 

I can't pick a winner, they are both great fighters. Beterbiev will be hard to beat and so will Gassiev, but both would knock out SOB Ward in a fair fight, if the rules of boxing are followed which they would not be because there are "no" rules for SOB Ward and never has been!

I dont really think that those guys will want to fight each other just yet-Bivol,Kovalev,Gvozdyk and Beterbiev.

Gvozdyk is kinda friends with Kovalev and doesnt want to fight him if its not for good money and titles,and they are both not a big draw. [ Its ok because Ward wasnt big draw too ]

Gvozdyk vs Beterbiev is high risk low reward right now for both,Beterbiev at least has a title,Gvozdyk has nothing at this point.

Same with Kovalev,he has no title and Eastern European fighters in America ??? Hard to become a draw and make money man [ Im not dissing Eastern Europeans,i like all those mentioned exciting heavy hitting fighters but those are the true facts.Also im from Eastern Europe my self ].

It just feels wrong,exciting fighters with great power but hard to make money against each other,Stevenson doesnt wanna take risks and Ward wasnt draw as well.Its just sad really.

Beterbiev vs Kovalev might happen still probably in Russia if Kovalev regains one of his titles next fight since they have a beef already from back in the day @ amateur days.But still they wont make any money fighting each other,just gonna ruin each other in such a fight.

Also Kovalev and Beterbiev got bad promoters,even if they make some money,promoter will take big chunk.No idea whos promoting Bivol and Gvozdyk.
