Im a ggg fan bigtime . i don't care if he moves up or not. I would like to see him face ramirez before he retires. Ramirez vs GGG 2018 ?

He doesn't have to move up. Hagler didn't, Monzon didn't, but Hopkins had to lol.

Doubt it. He's naturally a MW, if was gonna go there he'd be there by now. Being a undisputed champ means more than weight jumping titlists anyway unless u go up and beat The man at every everyweight

He doesn't really need to any more. There's enough solid contenders at 160 now to keep him busy until he throws in the towel.

and the reason why most move up is because to look for the paydays but he has them at 160

Isn't he already small for a MW? Kid would be a tiny SMW.

Gennady doesn't need to move up. Get the last remainig belt, break BHop's
record & go down in history as one of the best 160 EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

theres no need to move up.

however, if he did, it only adds to his legacy (currently built on everything hes done since 2014, a solid 3 year run of defences - even the draw was a success really because its a defence, not a loss of the title).

A lot of MWs have spent 3 years as a unified MW champion, so hes on par with them, no shame in this elite standard. Theres no rule saying he has to do a Ward.

Ive always said, 160lbs is a weight you could stay at your whole career it plays the perfect middleman. Always people coming up and always people coming down.. 160 is so rounded youll always have fresh competition throughout your career. GGG is the perfect height and frame for 160lbs, doesnt look like hes gonna outgrow it, if he was 6ft roughly then he would of outgrew 160lbs before he was 35.

Only time a fighter should move weight is if hes dominated the weight and wants new challenges or if he simply cannot make the weight no more. I think hes only got 4 fights at most left in him before hes gone forever, maybe if he can unify and win his rematch, by that time we might have a unified SMW champion (Assuming De Gale fights the winner of Super Series next year), IBF,WBA,IBO Belts on the line, then there might be a big catch weight fight for him to end his career with.

Other than that, i see him ending his career as a HOF 160lber who will go down as a Top 5 MW of all time and 1 of the most avoided boxers in his prime.

I doubt it will ever happen even though there could perhaps be some good, winnable fights up there for him in the future.

his people might be telling him his big advantage will be take away if he moves up. which is he seems to be a big middleweight.

Apart from Canelo his bigger pay days are @ 168 and he is simply too big to make 160 healthy now any way. (with the obvious exception of a Floyd fight which won't happen)

If he continues fighting he will definitely move up.

After Canelo 2, GGG will be an extremely wealthy man, it's hard getting up to fight wearing silk pyjamas.

They've said he might move up, but it's not a priority until they rematch Canelo and have all the belts. So I don't see it happening any time soon.
