In the United States we have a process called immigration and naturalization. I'm not going to explain the process to you, but basically in the USA it's possible to change your nationality. So someone born a Mexican, for example, can, by participating in the naturalization process, actually become an American. That is the legal aspect. There is also a less formal aspect of becoming an American, which I won't go into for you at this time, but I hope you take some trouble at some point and look into these matters as you may find them interesting. And you may find, to your surprise, that your own country has immigration and naturalization laws as well.

Going through an administrative process does not change your nationality. Do you believe the three named trainers are American? If so, by the immigration logic you used, fighters like Kovalev, Golovkin and Lomachenko are American also?

Nationality is built by a number of things. Where you are born is one, but more importantly, where you were raised and what culture you grew up with. Other things like your first language are part of what builds nationality.

    Roach
    Sanchez
    Garcia

Don't rate Hunter at all, outside of Ward he's never had a successful fighter or improved a fighter that has gone to him.

Ive watched Roach coaching pacman when doing padwork, and he gets heavily involved in teaching/correcting and encouraging him, so thats what trainers do after all the foundations have been laid. A good trainer probably wont think that what he does is a big deal and so he downplays his part in the teamwork that goes on to create a complete fighter :)

Roach is a great trainer for a few reasons. Before Pacquaio came to Roach he was basically a one handed fighter. Roach helped Pac to develop that right hook that took him from a one dimensional southpaw with power into an ATG power punching wrecking machine. He also taught Pacquaio the footwork to set up that right hook.

He gives excellent advice in the corner as well. He tells guys what they need to hear in order to win the fight. if you want to see what I mean look at the last round of Toney vs Jirov.

I'd agree with the no.1 poster who said Kenny Weldon. Real, old school wisdom.

Not saying he’s the best, but I like Barry Hunter. He gives good instruction between rounds. I also like that he seems to genuinely care about his fighters, especially Lamont Peterson.
