The best trainer can take anyone from scratch or rebuild them and make them great. Some get lucky and get genetically advanced guys or guys that boxing comes natural so its a tricky topic. Some even specialized in certain weight classes but I go off the top at HW. 1. Cus Damato 2. Manny Steward 3. Eddie Futch
Hahaha can you imagine being trained by Liam Gallagher.. "right that's enough padwork, let's get down the pub and get on it for a week" Ricky Hatton loved Oasis. Maybe he was trained by Liam Hmmmm, would explain a lot. I agree with the Futch and Steward comment, two of the very best.
"Fookin' speedball? How's that any good our kid?! The only good kind of speedball involves class A's! As you were lad..." This story about him and Steve Coogan cracks me up. http://www.nme.com/news/liam-gallagher-shares-amazing-story-steve-coogan-2091104
Even Liam Gallagher has a better game plan than to walk forward, hands up, give your opponent the first five rounds and hope they run out of gas down the stretch.
Eddie Futch and Jack Blackburn are definitely in that lineup.. a few underrated guys I would personally throw in there too.. Bill Miller, one of the original Kronk guys.. fabulous boxing brain.. Bill Slayton.. ran the Hoover St gym in La for decades, brought up Michael Dokes, Lamon Brewster, and many others.. Slim Jim Robinson too.. Mirageboxing.blogspot.co.uk
