Inspired by the Foster vs Liston thread. When they fought Williams was shot to **** (literally). What if he was prime? For my money, Williams takes out Foster in 2.
I think its about 50/50. I read that Foster knocked out Sonny Liston in sparring, of course it was far from a prime Liston, but one thing about Foster is he could punch like hell.
Unless Mac landed the big right early... pvp? Big Cat who would probably come out winging early and have him bemused and off his game plan. Granted Foster had a wallop but, like Cooney, he built much of that record on has-beens. Retired fairly early, only 2 losses but really had not any big wins in his career. Quarry (lazy and lethargic early on) pulverized him. Ali cake walked thru him. Sidebar: just thought of this. A Leotis-Mac bout in 69 might have been a beauty!
Foster was an out and out puncher, where as Cleve had a decent amount of ability as well as great power.. Mac wasn’t the most durable either.. Williams by a stoppage late. Mirageboxing.blogspot.co.uk
