Hes gonna be fighting in the Lemy Saunders Undercard. I have a feeling he could be facing someone in the top pretty soon. What do you guys think. He fought 3 times this year ending all by knockout early . This will be his 4th fight

Seen him fight eubank. Was pretty out classed even though he has a head like a block took some punishment.

Spike must be about 33 by now, so it's unlikely he will turn into a world beater at this stage. But he needs to win this one to stay relevant even on the fringes. A win here could set him up with a nice little earner against someone like Lemieux. Then spike could ride off into the sunset with his saddle bags bulging with loot. Granted he would probably be riding in the back of an ambulance,...but anyway...:)

Spike isn't mentally strong enough, twice he has been stepped up and twice he has caved in.

I couldn't tell you his best win.

That's a ridiculous thing to say.
If you think spike is mentally weak then you can't be too strong in that department yourself.
Agree he has never beaten anyone significant though. All his career has consisted of is fighting mediocre mullokers ....then making a huge step up to top tier opponents that beat him. Hardly a recipe for success.

He completely fell to pieces mentally against Jr. once it was on him he couldn't cope, same happened with Saunders, once he was struggling he caved in.

I've only seen him against Eubank Jnr. He looked pretty crude but did give Eubank some trouble (although Eubank has improve enormously since then). The pre fight interviews were cringe worthy though - Spike just grinning like a halfwit mumbling "you'll see" over and over.

    Hes fighting Antoine Douglas.

In this scenario, its Spike that's being brought in as the opponent.

I like Spike, I remember I'm when he was fighting on cards in Cork.

Hes never been top level. Hes a domestic fighter with a lot of charisma and good heart

spike o´sullivan is EVERYTHING that is wrong with professional boxing!! he is 26-2.....but in reality you can make a case for him being 0-2. basically he had 26 Sparring sessions and 2 real fights. and those, he lost after being totally outclassed.
yet here he is, fighting on the undercard of a world title fight.

as an Amateur he wouldnt even make it out of the first round at the european Championships! yet as a professional he is relavant cause he is 1) irish and 2) Looks like a hipster. what a sack of ****.

Don't talk crazy - Andy Lee was scouted by Manny Steward himself, was a top amateur, and (Vera upset aside) only lost to the much bigger JCCJr, and BJS - who he actually outboxed and took most of the rounds from.

Lee was and is a lot more than just heart.

When I think of Spike I think of a fun fighter. The type that's always liable to come up slightly short against the best but get him in the right fights and he's good value. He's definitely above domestic level but he's in a division where the gulf between condender and apex is significant.

Bouts with Lemieux (after Saunders outpoints him), Derevyanchenko and Murata could be all be wild encounters. I wouldn't make him favourite in any, but he's live in all as none are as cute as BJS or as unbreakable as Eubank. The same goes for Lee, that could be a mini-classic.
