I don't know much about him how does he do with groves or eubank? groves and eubank I know them very well but callum not so much..........
Can't think of a bigger smw ever than him but nobody knows how good he is yet, we will after this tournament though.
He gets ICED by both Eubank and Groves, "IF" he faces either. He is not world class and has a carnival clown padded record.
Yes. BJS was in his prime then, he is poor now. Another lazy gypsy who doesnt listen to sports science, and is physically declining and has never carried power at the top level Eubank has improved massively in the past year. Eubank would UD BJS if they fought tomorrow.
Smith has solid skills like his brothers, good high guard and picks his punches well. Moves well and has dynamite power and brutal body punching. He is easily the best of the brothers because he was gifted the best genes, he is a physical specimen and his brothers are just average joe athletes. I have been saying Liam Smith would be a world better if he wasn't such a poor athlete. Even with a lack of athleticism he is still a former world champion and looking close to regaining his title. Callum has by far the highest ceiling, and was a deserving favourite for the WBSS despite the lack of resume.
No offence but some terrible points. It's a well known fact that bjs has twice signed the rematch against cej and cej lost his pen again, was also told by Adam booth that he would not beat bjs when booth started training cej. Secondly bjs is now in Sheffield, hired one of the uks top nutritionist and a strength and conditioning coach full time so I suggest bjs prime is coming 2018 onwards and beat cej on a 6 week training camp 1st fight. Thirdly if you don't agree with the above that's all fine but this thread is about Callum smith and he is in his prime and Eubank doesn't not carry world level power. He is a middleweight and smith to be is probably a light heavy. My guess is Eubank will pull out of a fight at some point, there is a reason Martin Murray is in training camp.
I find it hard to believe Saunders had a six week camp, look at his physique @ the weigh in, he was very lean, no fat. Probably still better shape than he's in now, only difference being he has put on muscle and has grown a bit of size in the years since. Muscle doesn't usually equate to fitness, I think he might gas quicker now, and he has always been a hard trainer when in camp, he just balloons up out of camp. I think people will be surprised when Groves doesn't have a big size advantage on Jr. He is definitely bigger, but Jr is a fully fledged 168 now. Callum Smith is a different story he's a monster at the weight, much bigger than Groves.
Smith looked the goods before the Skoglund fight.. impressed me everytime I saw him, great body puncher. He was wiping guys out in 1 round that went the full distance with the likes of Degale I thought this tournament would be his coming out party.. and fully expected him to win it. However... a poor performance by his standards against Skoglund.. Hopefully it was a one off, lets see how he looks against Braehmer.
I'm not fully sold on Smith. He kind of reminds me of Pavlik, though he moves a bit better, is a little quicker, more tidy and compact technically but isn't as relentless or as heavy handed as Pavlik. But like Pavlik his defence is pretty basic, no head movement, relies purely on his height and reach and keeping his hands up. But if someone can get inside his reach and let there hands go I could see him in trouble. The way Skoglund was able to land on him at times makes me think it doesn't bode well when and if he runs into Groves because Groves will definitely test his chin. Eubank might be a little too relentless for him, pushing him back and working him over on the inside and making him pay for his lack of head movement.
