This is true. I'm sure Roc Nation and HBO lost a **** ton of cash on Ward. Fact is nobody is going to risk paying ward anything but peanuts when it's been made very clear nobody wants to watch Ward fight outside of Oakland. Have to give it to Ward from a business perspective he somehow convinced everyone he could be a star despite having literally 0 ability to say and do anything to self promote himself, every time he opened his mouth he was literally turning fans away. He managed his career horribly and was one PR disaster after another but still was able to con people he could turn in around and was worth taking a risk with.
