Depends as some say above when he fought Tyson he was in decline etc .if it was prime al above Tyson, vitali Holyfield all best aj and would think golota ,mercer and tucker all give him hard fights .all about opinions guys . TBf his era isn't great am not fan aj at all and think he has beat a 42 year old wlad who been out ring long time and lost to fury and he gave him a hell fight .still think he will lose to ether Parker povetkin wilder or fury not all but one of above
Lennox stops him late. Can't help who put in front him but same time y not make say 10 12 million instead of 15 20 million and fight top guys and be a legend
You think he handles vitali ?? Most would say he better of the brothers and wlad gave aj nightmares at 42 and out ring for a long time
AJ is not beating Vitali or anything even close. Vitali unlike his brother had an Iron jaw. He didn't hit as hard as Wlad but was more aggressive and dished out serious beatings. He had an unorthodox style unlike his brother who is more of a technician. Vitali was an absolute beast.
Jesus Christ who made this thread.Lennox Lewis and AJ ATM are not in the same bloody league. In my opinion the disrespect for Lewis is shocking in America and here.In My opinion he is the Greatest British Boxer that we've had.And he is the one who came out on top during those Heavyweight Battles with Tyson,Holyfield,Rahman,Vitali etc.If Joshua beats Wilder,Parker,Fury alongside Klitschko then he can be put alongside those names but i've seen these polls on twitter aswell it's a joke from casual AJ Fans.
Rememer Greg Ruzedski? That's how British feel about Lennox imo How can you really support someone with an accent like that. American sounding accent that goes into Jamaican every now and again . Dunno why but he never seemed "British" Not about race because Eubank Benn and Bruno all Brits were 100% behind them. As they were culturaly British as well as born here . Lennox wasn't really seemed to have no understanding or affinity with the UK imo
As a Brit myself (as I assume basically everyone in this thread is) I really don't think many people share that thought
More than likely. I'm not particularly fussed or interested in stuff like that myself. If your passport says you're a Brit then you're my fellow countryman. But I know some people can be incredibly (and unreasonably) selective about such an insignificant thing, so if he was pants then yeah I wouldn't be shocked if that was the case.
Look at all of Lennox's Fights in America and the rest which Flag did he fight under? He could have easily chose Canada, native Jamacia but he chose Britain. He was Born in London but then had to move to Canada at a early age then represented them in the Olympics which is where i think the Problem stems from. Why didnt he Rep GB though,he had Dual Citizenship, but maybe the circumstances all of his friends/gymates were probably all Canadian,so it probably would've been a bit wierd.I think Because Frank Bruno exisited somewhat during that Era Lennox was Cast aside but once the Bruno Train Ended every Brit went back to Lennox.Kinder Sly That and their were suggestions Lennox was Advised to Call himself British as it meant tons of Brits would travel to the Vegas Casinos etc
Out of these Seventeen, I have Thirteen beating him, not all easily, but some more comfortably than others.
Most of that list would bash the kid up, no doubt about that. Those guys were hardened men, teak-tough. WHo the hell has AJ fought bar a faded Klit. F all, thats what.
We will see very soon once he fights Parker,Wilder and Fury if he wins all three,he has to be put alongside Vitali,Lewis etc.
This is a non logical premise. Defeating all those guys in his era ( something Joshua is supposed to do ) wouldn't prove anything to the thread topic. The reality is Joshua is as 6'6 SHW athletic fast powerful counter puncher who would steam roll any era and is a top 5 h2h HW at the very least and ppl are going to find this out later. I say later BC like ALL eras he at present isn't looked at as a great fighter BC boxing fans go with longetivity not practicality. If defeating a well prepared Klitchko in 18 fights under him can't convince ppl than they simply have no clue what their watching .
