It’s a long story but it didn’t make sense to have to fight a man coming off a stoppage defeat. The board should have not pandered to Hearn and Gallagher and ordered Buglioni v Yarde in the first place. Even before then, Buglioni was calling for the Yarde fight, Frank W makes a massive offer then all of a sudden Hearn gets onto the board and they call for Burton. Burton was being used as a pawn by Hearn basically to get to Yarde and try to get one over On Frank. Burton doesn’t want to fight Johnson if he wins against Buglioni as there stablemates, Johnson hasn’t fought in over a year and is a sick note who I bet pulls out again in Feb...Buglioni doesn’t want to fight Burton again and refused to accept him when Johnson pullled out last minute on the AJ card..the whole thing is a shambles. If Yarde-Burton went to purse bids, Hearn would easily be able to outbid Frank as he would stick it on a AJ PPV as cheif support so he will have massive funds available..that’s the other reason it can’t/won’t happen.
Too soon to say really but I'm guessing he won't be at that level when it's all said and done. Those fighters in that list are world class.
Jesus Christ first it was Conor Benn now it's Yarde.Yarde has to fight bums now simply because that is the level he is at currently given he didnt have a Amateur career such as Josh Taylor. You lot are just too keen to see these Young ones get knocked out.You have to remeber the current crop will start to age soon,Brook,AJ,Bellew,Fury,Groves the next batch Buatsi,Yarde,Benn,Taylor,Cordina,Kelly you have to give them time.Stop expecting too much too soon.
He hasn't even fought a decent light heavy yet this guy his fighting is a super middle that is very poor and he ducked Burton because he would be outboxed look to terrible
Before you mention the elite of the division I’d like to see him against Burton, Buglioni and Johnson. I’m not sure he beats all them to be honest. That’s his acid test. Frank is gona say he’s too big for all that now though.
Acknowledging he has no am career, its time he was stepped up to at least domestic level with some guys who might not fold of one shot. He needs rounds and proper fights to get better not target practice. He looks a little too bulky to me and we saw in his last fight the guy fiddle and move and get out of the round and once he did feel Yardes shot he had no interest in carrying on. he's had 13 fights and yet only is it 5 of those guys have winning records? Its time for the next step English title level otherwise he isn't going to learn anything and with his stupidly high ranking there's every chance he will get put in with someone he isn't ready for. Just looking at his next fight and Sjekloca while not a puncher has never been stopped and has been in with some decent names probably past his best but hes 4 times better than anyone else Yarde has faced on paper at least
