Absolute cretin? Ha! Instead of digging your heels in and making a complete fool of yourself, why don't you actually go and READ the links I posted. Because we both know that you haven't read them. Regarding Reggie, yes, we're both in agreement that he was nothing special. But he was a good fighter. Yes, I know you added Woods. I was just pointing out that you'd missed other fighters along with him. Again, I never said LHW was particularly strong. My argument is that it was stronger than the SMW division for the majority of Roy's reign. Do you understand what majority means? All you want to do is to focus on 2004 when Roy was beaten. And that's because you have an obvious agenda. Again, it's laughable that you've accused me of having one. I agree with you that by 2004, the tide had started to turn. From that point, the SMW division became stronger, whilst the LHW division became weaker. Why? Because guys like Roy and Dariusz were faded, and guys like Hill etc had moved on. So yes, when Roy got beat at 35, the division wasn't particularly strong. But what about the previous FIVE YEARS? Why don't you take them into account? Again: READ THE LINKS. When Roy and Dariusz were at their best, and Tarver was just coming through and joining the likes of Hill, Griffin, Reggie and Nunn etc, it was stronger than the SMW division that had Joe, Ottke, Reid and Branco etc. You're a damn fool if you think SMW was stronger. Now unless you're going to be objective and you're going to read the links, then don't even bother replying.
So you admit I added Woods yet missed other fighters along with him?......makes no sense at all. The 175 was weak outside of RJJ and DM, that was the run up until Roy lost.....the division got better....slightly I may add. As for replying, arsed is all I say as talking to you is like trying to educate the poor.
I said that along with you originally missing Woods and Del Valle from your list of Roy's title defences, you also missed off Reggie and Griffin. That's four fighters that you originally missed from your list. It's funny how you missed them, but you were happy to list Frazier and Kelly. I'm sure it wasn't done on purpose though, right? How was 175 weak outside of Roy and Dariusz? During Roy's reign, the best of the rest were: Griffin, Hill, Harding, Tarver, Woods, Roch, Nunn and Reggie etc. It wasn't weak. What about the SMW division? Trying to educate the poor? You've got absolutely no chance of coming out on top against me in this debate. You don't have enough knowledge, and I've exposed your bias.
I've probably not as you are really dense and you are continually skipping my points and talking utter gibberish. You are an Idiot.....you are on the level of Nay_Sayer, Dinovelvet, etc.
Hilarious. I've just completely exposed you for what you are. What points have I skipped? Enlighten me. I'm an idiot? Great. You must have given your brain a great workout typing that up. You are the guy who moved the goal posts. You are the guy who only wants to focus on one year of Roy's 6 year reign. You are the guy who hasn't even bothered to read the links I uploaded. You are the guy who's purposely omitted opponents from Roy's resume. You are the guy who's misread my points. You are the guy who's being completely biased.
I never omitted anyone Griffin Hill Del Valle Grant Frazier Johnson Telesco Hall Harding Harmon Gonzalez Kelly Woods Tarver They where his title win and defences....there's only Tarver and Hill who you could consider top level. The rest where blown up 160lb fighters or guys who had no business challenging for a title or they only did because the division was WEAK at the time. YOU HAVE STILL NOT ANSWERED MY QUESTION..... I'll ask again, How is it that if 175 was tougher than 160 and 168 a fighter that was 5-6 at at 168 was able to become top dog at 175? How is is a good fighter in Reggie Johnson who had just been bested by JDJ and Castro at 160 was able to jump up 15lbs and win a title there?
Odins beard, You originally omitted 4 fighters from the list. What's your criteria for being a top level fighter? Griffin put in a great performance against Roy in their first fight, and he had 2 very good fights with Toney, which were very close. I would class him as a top level fighter. He was awkward and underrated. Not elite, but certainly top level. No business challenging for a title? I have answered your question. Glen became a top dog in 2004 when Roy was faded. Would Glen have been a top dog at any point in the previous 6 years though? If SMW was stronger, then how did Charles Brewer win a title at SMW and be considered a top fighter for a few years, when he was knocked out by 2 B/C class fighters and had many other losses at MW? Isn't that the same thing as what Glen did? Let's put some of the other top rated SMW's under the microscope: Mitchell - Was knocked out by Richard Hall who you consider a bum. Malinga - Lost to Benn, Eubank, Roch, Woodhall, Nardiellio and Larsson etc. Reid - Lost to Branco and Malinga. Nardiello - Lost to Reid, Wharton, Woodhall, Close, Seillier and Cordorba etc. Echols - Lost to Johnson and Hopkins at MW, lost to Mundine at SMW, yet he knocked out Brewer in 3 rounds. Ottke - Many people thought he lost at least one of the Brewer fights, and the Reid fight was disgusting. Along with Joe, he was considered the best guy at the weight for many years. His best win was probably against Mundine. I would say that Dariusz, Hill, Griffin and Tarver were better fighters than Malinga, Echols, Mitchell, Brewer, Reid and Nardiellio. I would say that faded versions of Reggie and Nunn were also better fighters than the majority of those. I would also say that Roch and Woods were on their level or above. Did you see the fights?
might have some credibility? the guy has one of the highest reps on the Site that aside, his posts are well-written and balanced, and when he has a bias, he doesn't try to conceal it. i'm a big RJJ fan but the fact is that he tested positive for a banned substance, and the sanctioning body (to whom the tests were sent) never released the results, nor tested the B sample.
Can you please give me a link to some of his posts that are well written and balanced? I'm being serious. I would genuinely like to see where he's had an objective debate with someone. I can't ever recall seeing him have an actual debate. The only replies I've ever seen are filled with insults and emojis. If you could send me a link or point me in the right direction, I'll gladly take a look. Thanks.
