Alright so here is my story:
I have been kickboxing for over 4 years, i was asked to fight kickboxing bouts but i denied because i wanted to box. In my country (netherlands) their are not many boxing gyms around. everything is based on kickboxing. i am more of a boxer but the problem is that their are no boxing gyms around. I am not bragging but i know i can easily get to the amateurs and maybe even better. Should i maybe find a trainer or something or should i do something else? i really need feedback boys if i want to get serious in boxing this is the time! Im 14 years young.

yes, but if you're that good and determined, then an hour each way a couple of times a week will be worth it. I've known plenty of people who lived in the suburbs and driven/bussed/commuted an hour each way to get to a good gym. the good thing is that if you're the only real boxer around then you might be able to move up the ranks faster. also see where competitions are. you already have combat experience so you might consider getting registered and start fighting.

this is probably an outdated list, but start calling boxing people near your location and ask for advice or how to get started.

Because you have kickboxing experience, you may have to start off as an open class boxer.

if you want it bad enough there's always a way to make it happen. might be 2020 Olympics!

thank, the problem is not only the time that i have to travel but also the money... my family is not rich so we cant afford paying 30 euros+ per week on travel costs only. I will not give up. i sure will find a gym soon and then just begin with my journey. thanks for your post.

If all else fails you can simply keep kickboxing. I made a thread a couple of weeks ago in the general forum about boxers who started out as kickboxing that turned out to be surprisingly long. I have even known a few very good boxers who started out in karate or tae kwon do.
