Examples of foreign fighters getting shafted in the UK

Give me a list of these fights where a guy has been "schooled" and won a UD 116-112. Or are there too many to list? - does it happen every week, every time a home fighter wins on the continent?

I am only generalising, as opposed to using specific examples.

No doubt there are any number of victories by Sven Ottke you could choose from :deal

 

I haven't seen all of Ottke's title defences but he won all the one's I've had the misfortune to watch.

The closest I've seen to what you discribed was De La Hoya-Sturm. "All three judges score the fight 115-113..." That was pure American home cooking.

 

What utter bull****,three fights you mention all pretty clear victorys by the British fighters in question.We rip our own off here,you know it aswell as everyone else.we allways have to be fairer than fair here,all that its not wether you win or lose its how you play the game bollocks.ive read enough of your posts to see your a **** mate.

 

Polo v Scott H and Glen J v C Woods I were pretty dodgy, but Britain is no worse than other countries. I think the judging in Britain is pretty good; the judges scorecards are often a more fair reflection of the fight than the cards tallied by the commentators.

 

Thought of one, Mark Thompson vs. a French guy called Horta on the undercard of Moore - Facey.

Thompson tried to beat Horta up from the first bell, Horta covered up and picked Thompson off for the whole 8 rounds. The ref then gave the verdict to Thompson by a round. Bit of a shocker...

There are three or four of Ottke's fights which I consider robberies!

The judging here is generally quite good - there are a few odd cards here and there, but more often than not the right man gets the W.

The one thing that I think could improve matters would be to have ringside judges for all fights, regardless of their duration. You certainly see many more shocking decisions from an individual multitasking as opposed to three men with only one task - to score the fight.

No doubt many will disagree.......

I challenge any Americans who think that robberies are common place in Britain to make a list of fights and I promise an even longer list of dubious decisions that have occured on US soil. Deal?

 

Home cooking happens everywhere, to some extent. Everyone seems to defend their own country, and blame others.

It's understandable I suppose.

 

I notice that nobody took up my challenge.
