That certainly seems to be the case in the US, and it will probably take a big event like a unification fight between Joshua and Wilder to change that.

When did a guy become well known BEFORE he beat any top ranked dudes?

Stop being stupid, the lot of you.

If Wilder beats 1 or 2 top ranked guys in good fashion he will become huge, if he doesnt he wont.

Is that so hard to understand forum members?

Why i outta shove the lot of you members right up Blizzys ass.

I agree with you that ducking the Dustin Nichols rematch has hurt his standing.

Wilder refuses to fight a legit fighter! Wilder can't become famous by beating winos from the alley! Nichols knocked him down with a jab!

How did Wilder get his mandatory shot at Stiverne? Was he even ranked top 15 by the time?

No, at that time he had never fought anyone.....................Stiverne did not deserve to be ranked mandatory either...............Arreola was finished as well, he ate his way out of boxing..................Wilder has never fought a legit fighter ever! There should be real rules in boxing, but boxing is owned by the promoters who make the highest bid...................

Because Americans quickly saw through his scam. US boxing fans are quite educated, those who still follow boxing are the hardcore guys only. They see a fraud in Wilder and correctly so.

 Most of these answers are from the perspective of someone who already knows something. Not a promoter on the planet gives a **** about reaching any fan what already knows the name of a fan club. It's all about growing new fans, always has been, always will be.

That said, in my experience, I struggle to get people interested in HW boxing because the division is so obviously weak and filled with pussies. Mr. Wilder included. It's always the same story, they see a guy I think they'd like, get excited, peek on the other dangerous fighters, and their excited for a few hours until the find out oh, there's only five guys worth half a ****, none of them are even close to the 90s kings, and all of them are scared of each other, it's hard to hold their interest or to rationalize your own.

Nope, not da bums, nope not the attitude, nope not who he won his belt from, and no has nothing to do with how he's promoted. In America only one thing will excite the fanbase. A division that isn't an embarrassment. Remember, it was Wlad who killed HW boxing. Joshua's just begun to revive it. We have more than a handful of great champs....why should the average American who has no interest in the art and is only interested in spectacle like Tyson, why would they give a **** about any of these guys? Why should pride move the base? What else is there to motivate new fans? With Wlad America said no, winning it not enough to keep our interest. With Parker, Joshua, and Fury, America says cute, good for you, we still don't give a ****. Our own gets a belt and we don't change tune, cute, good for you, we still don't give a ****. And why should they?

    1. Wilder only fights bums and will continue to do so. It's hard for me to get excited or cheer for Wilder if he doesn't want to fight anyone good.

    2. He doesn't fight often enough. At most, Wilder will fight twice a year but I prefer fighters to fight 3 times a year.

So what Divison are Americans intrested in? We Need America and it's fans to be onsite with Boxing given the US is still the mecca of Boxing where the big money is and will be.For me as a outsider PPV has killed Boxing in America.Because i heard Thurman-Garcia on FTA got huge figures.HBO are the ones who were responsible for slinging most fights to PPV.I just think not meaning to be rascist,America needs a great White Champion that is what might draw the masses given how divided America is.
