Ward is decent. Technically very sound and moves quite well. He doesn't have natural power at all though and the way he fights accentuates that. Don't think he'd do an awful lot beyond domestic level for that reason, but yeah he's a solid boxer in that regard.
Seen him train and spar numerous times in person when he was an amateur and he's probably one of the best technical boxers in the country imo just a shame he lacks power as he'll probably struggle to keep stronger fighters off him as he moves up in levels.
So it's troubling for Jazza that he lost to ward then? Can Jazza kiss goodbye to being above domestic level now?
Not hugely troubling, because if memory serves it wasn't a totally one-sided affair. Ward is a very good boxer and if matched with the right style he could do reasonably well but just not at world level, I don't think. Although I've never rated Dickens massively highly I must admit
Have you not seen the fight? Jazza had gained a footing in the fight and was getting stronger before it was stopped on the cuts.
Ward technically excellent, won European gold I believe first to do it from here may be corrected, youngest to get on GB, multi titled amateur. Still only a baby not the biggest puncher but that may change as he matures
For me while Jazza gets 10 out of 10 for effort, heart, engine etc etc he tends to genrerate more heat than light if you follow. Wastes a lot of punches and energy. Also seems to seriously lack pop.
