Well, it looks like he is finished, but he should rest and give it another try with a lesser opponent first..............

He's always had that street corner-"can you spare me forty pence?"- can of Special Brew look about him.

How has Groves not fared much better? He's exceeded everyone's expectations and rejuvenated himself after the Froch saga, (during which he only bettered his name also) very well. Dues to him

this is 100% true, jim mcdonnell coaches as he boxed with high fitness and very little technique. degale has/had all the attributes in the world but even with his jab not looking effective why didn't jim tell him to shoot a hard straight left as traux walked in at him in straight lines :thinking: too much flurries of hooks to head and body and no precision. i think the fight with badou jack really has taken its toll, and the punishment might have a lasting effect on degale:thumbsup:

in his post fight interview i wonder if he was meaning a change of coach was what he needed but if that is true imo it is around 4-5 years too late:thumbsup:

Im not sure well see james again.
If there had of been the rematch clause in place then we probably would of.
Now james is in a weak position in negotiations and will have to take small change. Im not sure he can accept that.
Eddie hearn hit the nail on the head yesterday. "How much desire has he left". Desire is what itll come down to now and for everything he now has to give up, (purses will be smaller and he will have to sign a proper contract with a uk promoter).

I dont think theres enough desire left

He looks shot to shinola to me.

He was told at the end of the 10th by Frank that he was losing and he needed a knock out, and his response was his two best rounds of the fight. However an old DG would easily have been able to go through the gears in the 11th and stopped Traux. When DG put some ill intent on his shots you could see Traux was outclassed, but then he just stepped back and did nothing. That was the story of the 11th and 12th rounds, and that proves he is shot.

Looks like DeGale’s body is breaking down. He’s becoming injury prone and after every fight whether he’s won or not, his face ends up like he just been brutally mugged with badly swollen face, busted nose and mouth, marked up and bruised. Can’t be doing him any good in the long term.

Truax is offering him a speedy rematch in Degale’s backyard. If he wants his title back, he has the opportunity albeit for a much smaller part of the financial pie. This will be the real test of how much he wants to continue fighting.

DeGale is absolutely rotten. Did it not occur to him to throw a bloody straight jab the entire fight? That was a David Price-esque, totally gormless performance.

He can’t throw one mate. He can pretend that shoulder’s fine and like Buncey said, for the everyday person in everyday jobs, it will be...but for an elite level fighter, it’s knackered, permanently.

He needs to knock it on the head then, as any brawler or front footed fighter will trounce him. Had Truax has a decent dig on him James wouldn't have seen the sixth round.

Agreed mate. Truax didn’t even have much power at 160. He punched himself out a bit in sustaining the onslaught.

Degale either has a stamina problem or both himself & Jim McDonnell are thick.

Ever since he turned pro Degale has been covering up on the ropes and taking massive shots, there’s only two reasons you would do this A) you need a breather B) it’s a bad habit.

If it’s A) then despite all the talk about James been super fit perhaps maybe he’s got a natural stamina issue.

If it’s B) then both Jim & James are thick and McDonnell is an atrocious trainer. The lack of a jab and any discernible tactics suggests this is the most likely issue.

Anyway though it was a truly atrocious performance I don’t think he’s physically shot I think all his issues are mental.

I searched through your old posts, and you claimed Froch was ducking Degale, and degale would have beaten Froch, haha!
    :qmeparto:

seems like you are just butthurt because he dismissed your reason for living Chris Eubank Sr's career.
