Can Hughie Fury be the best ever?

His defence in seriously some of the best I have ever seen, he blocked 95% of Parker's shots with his gloves. I looked close in slow motion, was hard to see in full speed, maybe he's too fast for the judges. Now once he develops some power, just as Tyson did, he'll get people's respect, then it's Hughies time. I might sound like a crazy fanboy right now, but that's how I see his career developing.

 

Not even half as good as his cousin, so no... He can improve and become a major player over the next 10 years though.

 

Please no, he might damage the sport even more with his non punching/running self.

I could do a poll now but there is no need because 70% of people would vote for Dubois to bounce Hughie around like a basketball on the canvas

It would be a great KO to watch for sure.

Hughie is not even the 5th best British boxer, let alone a world class fighter

 

I'm not sure what is sillier Fat Mick saying he saw shades of Ali or Don King saying Amir Khan reminds him of a young Sugar Ray Robinson.

I heard King make the last comment myself at the Khan Barrera presser.

 

I saw it and scored it for Parker... But he's young and talented despite his woeful style - so whether we like it or not he could become a division mainstay.

But in seriousness though, I think the sheer ugliness of the fight with Parker made both of their stocks drop when actually I think they both showed some skill in that fight - both could easily be underestimated by how uneyecatching that fight was. I like the idea of Hughie fighting Whyte like has been thrown around, I reckon he beats Whyte in another ugly fight - but the difference here is Whyte won't be so good at also making Hughie miss and will probably get gently padded enough that it may add up over rounds.

 

They saved a lot of money on the production though. Those 2 commentators giving Hughie 10 or 11 rounds must have cost them a couple of beers at a local pub.
