I may be late to the party but I just realized how inactive most of Haymon's top talent are.

I mean WTF? In order to build a brand you need to fight often and fight the best, yet we have fighters fighting once a year, sometimes zero times a year and at the very best twice a year, when these fighters should be getting much more exposure.

I'm not trying to hate on Al Haymon, I think we can all agree he's a snake and a weasel in one, but FFS, I just went down a list and noticed fighters like Thurman, Porter, Lara, Trout, Beterbiev, Garcia fighting once a year.

Then you have fighters who should be fighting 3-4 times a year who don't have a big name yet like Spence, Gary Russell fighting once a year.. What kind of ****ed up disservice is that?

Not only are the fighters wasting there time, but us fans are being robbed of more fights.

A lot of them are free agents and don’t have a time promotional company handling that aspect of their careers. It’s hard to be a boxer operating in this sport without a promoter securing fights for you. You’re right these kinds of talents need to be active In order to stay in the public eye and stay sharp.

Are you an Al Haymon nuthugger? lol

Any boxing fan should be concerned when top fighters are not fighting.

    1. Haymon is not "technically" a promoter. He is an "advisor" which means he does not build fighters he puts on fights and suggests that they would be good for them. For instance, Floyd is known as a Haymon fighter, but he is promoted by his own company. Wilder is known as a Haymon fighter but he is promoted by DiBella. Haymon does not set up training camps, book gyms hire sparring partners or any of that, he just sets up fights.

    2. Haymon's fighters make MUCH more than guys who are not advised by him, so it seems that they just don't want to fight that often. Who knows?

    3. It's the way boxing is nowadays. Elite fighters want to fight on TV and there just arent that many dates like there used to be. Lomachenko has been a pro 4 years, he has 11 fights. Rigondeaux has been a pro 8 years he has 18 fights.

This is a noticeable problem. That's why I am a fan of Arum and how he brings up his fighters. He may not be able to get them beast after beast but he ALWAYS keeps them active if they want to be. The Haymon guys have been so inactive that people are starting not to care anymore.

I always figured that Mayweather psychology would influence these guys more than it should. They would rather get nothing and not fight than fight for less than $1 million dollars. Boxing pay wise is going back to putting asses in seats. Not getting exposure is not a way to generate revenue, YOU NEED THE FANS!!!!!

Arum has giving us 2 new Olympic prospects and are exposing there come up to the public early.

Terence Crawford became the ONLY Undisputed Champion this year since Jermaine Taylor.

Lomachenko was super active busting out 3 fights making all 3 guys quit and beat one of the most fear men in boxing like it was nothing, Guillermo Rigondeaux.

Introduced us to Jeff Horn who just might be one of the toughest guys to beat at 147. I'm not saying he is skilled but, he does not mind getting hit and he keeps coming forward. He maybe has the toughest chin at 147 since Margarito.

Wow, I agree with IsaL on pretty much everything!

That's pretty strange, to say the least.

I'll just add 2c to what he said. Not only is it a bad way to build a brand, but the fighters are going to suffer from ring rust too. No amount of sparring can really make up for rounds in the professional ring. These guys are getting less exposure, AND they're going to look worse when they do fight.

Haymon and his army of boxing business men he created arent interested in building a brand they are interested in getting paid for the least risk possible.

Russell Jr and quillin being the worst offenders. How do you expect Russell or to face anyone good when he is being paid 1 million to face Paulie freckin hyland ?
