Haye and Burns, most certainly. Brook will still be around I think and possibly the two SMW's. Actually I'm picking Groves to win the WBSS so I have to assume he'll be knocking about
bellew possibly? I thin he said he's only got 2 fights left in him and if he losses to haye he'll probably try for a third but I think Haye will expect to be given the AJ fight
I think Brook will still be around for another 2-3 years, Groves & Deagle could still fight in 2018 if Groves loses to CEJ in a one last chance type fight.
I can see Burns fighting Taylor and then retiring if he loses. Brook and Khan are both one loss away from fading into obscurity and I'm not sure if either really would want to carry on boxing at a lower level.
New to this site, been lurking for a few weeks and only made one post. What is the deal with everybody on this forum acting as if George Groves is on the verge of being finished? He took two losses to Froch which is absolutely no shame whatsoever, especially because he gave Froch nightmares in fight 1. Yeah he didn't look the same for a few fights after that but he's rebuilt nicely now IMO. He's literally just won a world title against a very credible opponent and defended it against a guy who's no mug albeit small at the weight. The guys 29, if anything he's on an upward curve. I very much doubt he loses to Eubank, in fact I think he'll box his head off for 5 or 6 rounds and then stop him, but that remains to be seen. However even if he were to lose to Eubank, so what. He'd still be one of the top guys at SMW IMO and it would just prove Eubank is the real deal rather than just a super fit guy that relies on swarming opponents that allow him to tee off on them at will. I don't get it. I feel like i'm missing something...
Burns should be but I think he will continue much like RJJ finishing with a record of about 22 losses. Groves will either be on top of the world or back to being a contender. Bellew and Haye might be retired. Khan, Brook and Price just one loss away from retirement.
Im a Groves fan but even I think he's lost snap in his punches, watched some of his earlier fights and he was like lightning. However I think now he's matured he's become a better rounded fighter. Saying that, I think he'll still be around in 2018 by the end of it. Frampton has 2 years left in him max in my opinion, I don't think he has any intention of fighting for going on longer seems a smart guy. Would expect Burns to bow out in 2018, great career for him but time to hang them up.
Agree, but it's natural for fighters to change a little bit throughout their careers. Better to adapt than be one dimensional. Amir Khan will be a great example. Once his speed has gone there's nothing left. Groves may have lsot a bit of snap but he's certainly a better all round fighter now than when he fought Froch.
