Teddy Atlas fired from ESPN commentating for telling the truth! Too much pressure

Nah, the one and only time he really silenced Mayweather was when he told him, "You're only quick in the ring, Floyd." Floyd actually looked slightly burned, after taking a moment to ponder the cheap shot.


I liked Larry in the job. I often disagreed with him, and I didn't share the nitpickier extent of his bloodlust (Tapia-Romero was not a disappointing fight), but he brought great personality and quotables to the telecasts. I'm not sure Max does that. He has his good moments, though, and his share of bad.

 

For the record, Teddy scarred his face in a childhood polo accident.

Puh-leez. Kellerman sucks, and always has. Worst color commentator I've seen in 35 years of following the sport. HE'S the hack - a punk who was plucked from cable access obscurity due to his daddy's connections to replace REAL boxing journalists like Al Bernstein or Merchant, guys who actually paid dues before going on TV by working in the trenches and learning the sport. He's not fit to carry their jockstraps. Like one boxing journalist said at the time he was - undeservedly - placed in Merchant's role, replacing a guy like Merchant (or Al Bernstein for that matter), with an amateur like Kellerman is like replacing Picasso with the guy who does Elvis paintings outside Graceland!!!

 

Teddy was the worst part about ESPN broadcasts. Too often he made it about Teddy Atlas and not the fighters in the ring. He often refused to admit when he was wrong.. and sometimes complete forgot about the actual fight happening as he's going off about his pre-fight whatever.

He's also a huge reason Horn v Pac was even controversial... Horn won that fight. People think Pac lost because of Teddy.

 

Teddy is too emotional and too in love with his own voice. I don't mind the guy because I get a laugh out of him and I'm old,but he just shouts down his fellow commentators if they disagree with him. That **** is fine for us forumites on a message board but not for television. Listen to his argument with Smith about Canelo vs GGG and Byrd.

He has a point but won't tolerate those that have a different POV to him. Teddy's a dinosaur whose commentary could turn potential new boxing fans off the sport with his over the top rants.

 

Atlas tells the truth about GGG getting robbed and Loma deserving top p4P and gets shown the door. Kellerman does hatchet pobs on all E.E. fighters for years while on ESPN and get a great gig on HBO.

As ESB ostrich crowd stick their heads in the sand and ignore more blatant criminal conspiracies and status quo corruption. They revel in Atlas being fired for telling the truth and exposing corruption while celebrate the 1% privilege of Max Kellerman who is a toxic company man in bed with every repulsive element that is dragging this sport further into the gutter.

Everyone who supports or makes light of this decision is a repulsive creature, sickening me to my very core.

 

Max Kellerman is an idiot, would never have gotten his job at ESPN2 if not for his father, he does not know much but pretends to know, he kisses SOB's dirty arse! "Were those borderline low blows or were they low low blows"? He is the worst! I told Max, years ago, live on the air that he was a very nice closed minded person..................when he was still on ESPN2. Max thought the Klitschkos were German Nazi's, some controversy, he hated the Klitschkos! I explained to him that the Klitschkos were Ukrainian and that Ukrainians hated Nazis badly, look what Hitler did to Ukraine! Max is a nice person though...............I will give him that.................Paulie is a really good commentator, when Tony Weeks stopped the Kovalev/Ward fight on illegal low blows to the testicles Paulie raised hell, said the fight should never have been stopped on low blows, that Kovalev should have had 5 minutes to recover! At least he told that truth, did not kiss SOB's dirty arse at all! He knows boxing..................yes, boxing is corrupt! Byrd is the worst referee in boxing.................

As reported, Byrd who scored the Golovkin/Alvarez fight 10 rounds for El Pollo and only 2 rounds for Golovkin will not be penalized at all! Bob Bennett, the boxing commissioner lied live on HBO, claiming that Byrd was a great judge and had never had a bad card until the Golovkin/Alvarez fight! A total lie! Byrd has been corrupt for years. Jim Lampley said that if fans do not do something now, the corruption in boxing will continue! Bob Bennett was also called out by HBO for lying about the last Rigo fight when Rigo held his opponent's head and hit him three times in a row, then clearly after the bell landed a left hook and knocked his opponent out! Bob Bennett lied live on HBO, said their video man told him that the punch was clearly before the bell while the video was being replayed! Later the decision was changed, but only after HBO proved him wrong! The same Bob Bennett who refused to watch the replay of Kovalev/Ward when Ward clearly landed three low blows in a row to Kovelev's testicles!. Call the number and complain! I will do it tomorrow! If you have it on your DVR, then watch "The Fight Game" with Jim Lampley which was shown right after the fights!

 

Teddy is a straight shooter. He's good for boxing.

 

You may not be a fan of teddy but teddy does speak whats on the fans minds and represents us. This is nothing more than the powers that be shutting down another voice of decent. This is par the course nowadays in this country. Its like we`re living back in the 60s. I live in the USA and im not going anywhere but at this point in time ive never been so disgusted with where this country is.

 

That know nothing punk Smith was there to rile up Teddy & get him to lose his cool. He succeeded. BUT If you actually listened to what Teddy said he was 100 % right Boxing is CORRUPT !! There is no one overseeing the State Commissions & that is precisely where the corruption starts. They allow certain fighters to break their own rules I grant TUE's allowing it THREE WEEKS AFTER the rule breaking . Another one bans a fighter foe 2 years for having the ingredients of HUMAN SWEAT in his wraps. Where will it end???

 

I enjoyed most of his commentary. They should leave him on. BYW, does anyone have a link to his debate with Mark Kreigel? I looked on YT, and couldn't find it anywhere. Anyone have it?
