Lawrence Okolie vs Isaac Chamberlain - Picks

Chamberlain for me via stoppage. Okolie is over hyped by Eddie imo he sticks his chin in the air and tends to move in straight lines. Chamberlain the more polished at the moment

 

I favor Okolie.

 

Chamberlain for me. Despite his range Okolie has a non-existent jab and therefore finds himself on the inside too often, where he cannot fight properly, partly because he needs the leverage to generate his power which is pretty much his only asset.

His defence is poor and his chin is there to be hit. Chamberlain is a much more refined fighter and I see him breaking Okolie down by round 6.

 

Chamberlain for me. Better fundamental boxing skills, great amateur pedigree.

Okolie although athletic and catching the attention by his KO wins against extremely limited opposition, has fundamental defensive issues that a well schooled professional like Chamberlain will exploit.

I am siding with a UD for Chamberlain in this one, because he will not look to take risks and force the KO when its an easy fight for him picking off the rounds. Of course, he has never been forced into such a high risk fight and equally I would not be shocked if he scored a KO/TKO win. Sometimes fighters perform up to the level of their opponent and fear plays a role in them going for the kill, and this is why equally Okolie could get stopped here.

Okolie winning this in anyway would be a shock to me.

 

Okolie has a 100% Glass Jaw and it's getting shattered by Chamberlain.

 

Up until the other day I favoured Chamberlain, but now I can't shake the picture of Okolie winning by KO.
Maybe its just because i've warmed to him of late, after hearing about the bullying he went through but Im sticking with that pick.

Chamberlain ud but wouldn’t be suprised if he breaks down Lawrence late.

 

Okolie is under estimating Isaac too.

Okolie is complete garbage and is hiding glass. Chamberlain by brutal KO.

 

It’s a hard one to call. But Ive gone for Okolie KO just to go against the masses.

 

Okolie looking and sounding emotional in that presser. Just increases chances of making a mistake.
Chamberlain smiling through (although I think he was a bit embarrassed at times, Okolie made some solid points).

In all honesty I haven't followed either guy too closely, will be re-watching some of their fights before making prediction.

Out of interest why the certainty about Okolie hiding glass. sparring stories? or is it known from the amateurs
