Most evil or dark boxer of today's generation?

God fearing humble family man that dragged his former promoter to court, when the old man was dying of cancer, and slandered his name in the media by claiming that Goossen stole money from him, simply because he didn't want to honor the contract that he signed, got his lawsuits thrown out of court 3 times. More like a slimy hypocrite scumbag, that Andre Ward guy.

 

Probably have to be that racist Kovalev. He is definitely skilled in the ring, but has to be one of the most racist White dudes in boxing today.

 

Idiotic, first of all you have no idea what went on. Secondly, him having cancer has nothing to do with the situation. Just because someone has cancer means they can put you in a bad situation? Nope.

Not only that, but Ward fought everyone of relevance who actually wanted to fight him, some excellent fighters among them.

It's not his fault Andre Dirrell pulled out of the Super Six to avoid their scheduled showdown. It's not his fault that Lucian Bute was incapable of doing his part to build up their proposed meeting by retiring Carl Froch as most observers said he would. It's also not his fault that Golovkin really wanted no part of him when it came to the crunch. They said he wouldn't face Kovalev, but he did so twice and emerged the stronger man after 20 rounds. Now they downplay Kovalev and want to talk about guys like Bivol, Gvozdyk and Beterbiev, all less proven men than Sergey, all offering much less than Sergey offered him.

His biggest crime was spending a period on the sidelines trying to free himself from a situation in which he felt taken advantage of. Oh well. Perhaps Goossen would have been wiser to make himself open to some renegotiation and input from his fighter. As it happened, in the end, fate played its hand and Ward was able to broker a better deal for himself elsewhere.

 

We know everything from the court documents, you muppet. Ward claimed that Goossen stole money from him, that is nonsense, had his promoter been such a thief, he wouldn't have re-signed to him. The fact is that Ward re-signed to Goossen, took a nice signing bonus, then wanted to get out of the contract, when he heard that Roc Nation was willing to overpay him. So he started to slander Goossen's name in the media, calling him a thief, when the old man was dying. That was pretty disgusting, when Goossen was actually one of the nicest guys in the promotion business, he was no Don King. **** Ward.

He tried to keep a lot of the money and didn't award Ward what he deserved. Ward deserved more and he felt he shoudl have gotten more. That's the fact.

He didn't want to give him more.

Andre Ward did absolutely NOTHING wrong and any self respecting athlete or businessman should do what it takes to get what he deserves. Him having cancer is irrelevant, so stop bringing it up LMFAO.

The fact of the matter is Andre is the gentleman of boxing and he has always been that. There's been no instances of him being anything but.

If we're allowed to go back to McClellan, Tommy Morrison was way worse. Tony Ayala was also worse and fought into the 2000s.

Butler was bipolar, Ibeabuchi was schizophrenic, and Valero had a history of TBI so I'm sure how valid they are.

 

Floyd Mayweather, Andre Ward, and Ray Leonard. Calculated manipulators and opportunists who took titles and ran. All had nasty mean streak. At least Mayweather was honest about being a p**ck.

Find it amusing boxing fans still think Kovalevs a bad ass killer after he quit like a ***** after Ward took his nuts. If Ward done that to a true dark/bad ass boxer like a Jack Dempsey there would've been hell to pay.

 

Top Rank were the company I remember being linked with Ward back in 2013 when the dispute was on. I don't recall Roc Nation venturing into the boxing market until the back end of 2014 and early 2015 when they signed a bunch of fighters (Ward among them, but not the first to join).
