Great, 50/50 fight. And among the top 5 active hws, the one least likely to happen. I see virtually no way this fight ever happens.
I'd say Ortiz would be a slight favourite right now. Pov looked past his best in his last two fights. If they were to meet in 2015 - well that might've been a different story. Post-meldonium Pov lacks sharpness, his punches are not as telling as they used to be. Ortiz by decision.
I would favour Ortiz, despite the difference in resume. Think he's slightly more dangerous, because of the size advantage. Povetkin would suffer the same fate as Jennings me thinks.
Ortiz would probably stop Povetkin late as he wouldn't have to go looking for him and Povetkin is still somewhat unproven against the true bigger HW's who matter. Who is Povetkin best win with someone over 230? Wach? I think Ortiz better boxer and his physical size wears Povetkin down.
Potvekin by TKO Ortiz is too slow. Potvekins much quicker handspeed and combination punching on the inside would be the difference as Ortiz would make himself easy to find
Povetkin was cleared by VADA! Povetkin would out box Old Man Oritz...............with or without his walker.............
I favour Ortiz. He's at his best when opponents come to him and he has that uppercut that stopped Jennings which would work well vs Povetkin. Povetkin's pressure won't make it easy for Ortiz though. But he'll be walking into Ortiz's counters as he comes in, he'll need to walk through bomb after bomb to turn the fight his way and I don't think he can do it.
You reckon he could knock him out with a bodyshot, maybe? Similar to the ones let's say.....Ward finished Kovalev with? Damn those were some great bodyshots weren't they, Farmy, weren't they??
