I don' think the new contract covers boxing as it's not listed in article and the Sky Deal is with Matchroom Boxing not Matchroom Sports.

Darts is the 2nd most watched sport in the UK so a very handy negotiation tool for matchroom boxing

    Matchroom don’t have any competitive
Promoters to worry about when it comes to boxing. Frank is on BT and anybody else are small fry- they won’t have any real issues when it comes to renewal time. The main concern they have is getting AJ to recommit and under reasonable terms.

To be fair I'm pretty sure it is true.

What tops it? Cricket has dwindled, rugby just isn't that big anyway, boxing is doing well but its not a regular tv thing in the UK so doesn't compare the same.

The only one is obviously football.

rugby has lots of matches around the UK same as cricket, darts has only has a few big competitions a year so i doubt its in the top 3

Darts is definitely within the top five watched sports in the UK- depends if you include the ITV/BBC coverage of the sport in your figures however.

There are 5 big darts competitions a year, including the Premier League, there's never normally any longer than a month without darts
