Archie Moore vs michael sprinks

Both were light heavies that fought at heavyweight

 

I have Spinks he was a huge Ltheavy who knew how to use his size well and had equal or maybe bigger power in the Jinx

 

Bigger power than Moore? Moore was one of the truly great punchers, there's no way Spinks had more power than Moore.

Having said that, we're talking h2h who would win. Moore wasn't completely unbeatable at light heavyweight but he was durable enough I think to take what Spinks could dish out. However, for Spinks to win he'd have to box and move like he did with Qawi, who is similar enough stylewise to Moore to make a comparison.

The question I wonder is could Moore stay inside long enough to do sufficient damage to Spinks. I think he could. I also think Moore could do damage to Spinks even on the outside so I'm going with a late rounds stoppage win for Moore.

 

Moore had a habit of losing to guys I've never heard of so I'm going with Sprinks... whoever that is

 

I'd favor Moore.

 

This is one of the very few times I would favor a natural lightheavy against Michael.

 

I love Michael Spinks but people forget that he had a few very tough fights at 175 .. Marvin Johnson gave him hell, Yaqui Lopez gave him hell, Eddie Davis gave him hell and Qwai gave him hell .. he won, no question but he was seriously challenged .. I can't help buy favor Moore in a battle of all time greats .. Archie had so much more experience against even better opposition ..

 

Moore with trouble Spinks with his cross over defense and his jab and
hard counters. Eddie Davis who gave Spinks hell said " He don't like
jabs, he can't stand them as a matter of fact "
Moore wouldn't be cautious like Braxton and tire like Davis .
Moore stops Spinks late.

 

How many times was Spinks dropped or stopped in his career?

 

I am a huge Michael Spinks fan and though truthfully, this fight could go either way, I am picking Archie Moore by close Ud. He fought a greater quality of fighters, plus his experience would kick in in the championship rounds.

 

I think spink would win. He can take it better than Moore.

He outboxed Qwai rather easily. He KNOCKED out Yaqui in under 6 rounds.
Dont think they gave him trouble.

 

I like Spinks but feel he has become over rated when people actually compare him to a guy like Moore who had so much more experience against more great fighters .. this big thing about inside and outside ? Spinks had one ( 1 ) inch in reach on Archie .. I like Michael, believe him to be a great light heavyweight and all that but just can't say a man with 26 or so fights at 175 beats Moore ...

 

That's revisionism .. He fought an amazing fight against Qwai but fought it very defensively minded .. he was always very careful of Qwai .. The Lopez fight was a war, commented on many times later on by Spinks.
