McGirt seems to be 4 for 153 as trainer

Does are from the couple of wins Tarver got and Gatti got. Everytime he trains a fighter the turn into garbage. Please Kahn as an A merican don't do it :good

 

Buddy sucks as a trainer, he not only gives the wrong advice to his fighters, but I'm hard pressed to find more than 1 example where he motivated his fighter to win in the corner, saying "Baby" after every sentence doesnt count.

 

yea i think arturo should get alot more credit for turning his career&style around than he does,buddy did his bit but give gatti his due.

 

yea and a good trainer should also make sure his fighters come in well prepared and don't overlook their opponents.

 

I think McGirt is a world class trainer, even though his recent record does not reflect that.

But wasn't it Billy Banks that put Toney on a stickly lima bean diet, or something?

 

I thought it was Roach and Banks, either way I find that pretty funny and extremely hard to belief, because he still came in fat. I forget what match it was, maybe Rahman or one of the Peter fights, but Banks was in his corner actually giving him advice between rounds.:rofl

I also laughed out loud when the mics picked up Blanks giving between round instruction.

I learned that a long time ago. Especially when he was a trainer on the contender with most of those rejects of fighters

 

He's a very good trainer, but his fighters seem to be at the end of their careers. He takes on fighters that are a shopworn 37 or unfocused fighters like paulie.

Only one I got is where he said to Tarver about giving RJJ too much respect
