I like Lampley, it's no surprise he gets emotional at times, but dont we all? Especially when it comes to things that mean something to you. When he tears up over his favorite fighters I laugh, when it comes to a dying kid, I feel it's appropriate.

I like Jim as well. I've seen both he and Larry get choked up on a number of occasions. I do not have a problem with that. In fact it adds feeling, emotion and drama to the broadcast.

Try not to take everything so seriously. You'll live longer. :smoke

Agreed, Jim does get a little too emotional at times, where Larry picks his spots. I heard Lampley actually cried during the telecast of Taylor/Pavlik, I didnt catch it the last word they did that night, but do you know if that is infact true or not?

I did not catch every round of their first encounter and didn't see any of the rematch but I plan getting copies of both so I'll know then. Perhaps both of them drink a lot. My 35 year old brother is a full blown alcoholic and he's known for getting very emotional at times. But more than likely they just feel very passionate about what they are talking about. Good for them. :good

it just shows how much into it he is. He is totally dedicated to what he does. The tears after that kid with cancer could have been caused by the death of his friend which he mentioned at the end of the telecast. The guy is propably little sadden by that fact. Anyway I think it was very touching and it shows he's emotional guy. Nothing wrong with that.

Exactly, Dano. This clown should be banned from the forum for this kind of classless post. You just can't make it up sometimes, I'm telling ya. :-(

Agree 1000%. With all the phoneys in boxing, its no wonder annoucers go through their motions when dicussing some of these clowns, but when talking about Pavlik, we're talking about a very decent, down to earth human being with a gigantic heart, that has absolutely every quality trait a Champion needs, without any of the BS we've seen in the past from fighters after reaching the big time.

What was wrong with him being sad for one he knows Mckay from working at ABC. Maybe he lost a family member to cancer so he was thinking about that. I lost 3 family members to cancer and that **** is sad, because I really think are government has the cure for that **** along with AIDS/HIV

And what would be the reason that they don't reveal it to the world?
