As we all know, Hearns moved all the way up to cruiser and captured a title there as well. And Louis defended his title against guys who were hardly above the LHW limit to guys who'd be considered SHW's today.

So what if Hearns as a cruiser replaced Billy Conn and fought Joe Louis? Could Hearns capture a heavyweight title, too?

LOL...Hearns is one of my fav's. But I figure Billy Conn was competitive, although much of it had to do with style. Perhaps Hearns could pose some problems?

Hearns won a title that was considered nothing at the time and he beat a nobody to win it, by this time Hearns wa no-where near a world class fighter and would have been trounced if there was a cruiser as smart as the lighter Conn. Tommy wasn`t as graceful and inventive as Conn when he fought at light heavy or higher, look what happened to a 6ft 3" puncher like Bob Foster, the question should be could Hearns beat a puncher like Foster at light heavy or cruiser before you put him in with the bigger Louis, maybe if they fought ten times he might land the big one, but I feel he goes once hit wit the first wicked combo, he wouldn`t deal wit Louis`s fast combo`s as well as Conn did, Hearns wasn`t as quick at the higher weights at all.

Louis in a very quick blow out. Tommy didnt have the chin to fight someone like the Brown Bomber.

Hearns doesn't stand a chance here IMO. I give him the first round maybe ,but after that Louis would have Tommy pulling a goofy face after been hit by Joe s precise shots .

Conn himself would destroy Hearns, let alone what Louis would do to him at such a lofty weight limit.

We really need a dislike button.......
This is one of those theads that are created purely for the attention factor.

Now lets have a dozen or so more random heavyweight matchups, i'll start........

Bugner from june 24 1976 v Sonny Liston how he was 14 october 1965.

I have no idea if those dates have any meaning but what the heck, this seems to be the fad in here.

It's one of the most preposterous match ups that's ever been made on here.

I generally propose matches because I'm a bit of a list-maker. I'm genuinely interested in the thoughts of those more knowledgeable than myself. Don't see the value in this one.

Be a minor miracle if Hearns saw round 3.

Louis KO 1 is the most likely scenario.
