most everyone without a dog in the show scored it close. Breidis looked better early and late with Usyk taking most of the middle.

I think it will be Dorticos vs. Usyk in the final.

Gassiev is very strong but limited, Dorticos is the quicker, better boxer.

Hard fight to score on my shitty stream. There were enough close rounds that I'm not surprised with the scores although a draw seems a stretch.

I'll just say it, Diamante and the mile long dreads and suit was the necessary piece of the puzzle to make this a classic event

That is an important question. Somebody needs to answer it.

Did Usyk say "give it to me" about the mic to Ronald McIntosh? If so R-Mac Daddy just owned Usyk lol.

I'm leaning Dorticos in that one as well.

Gassiev is a freaking monster, but I still feel like Dorticos is getting sold short and that the best is yet to come for him.

I wondered why they didn't have a 3rd place match but I suppose with modern egos and management strategy that getting 8 worthy top fighters to commit to 3 consecutive difficult fights or at least 1 loss is hard enough.

I agree, and I said so before the fight so I guess I can repeat it now.

However I think that Gassiev has a great future, he's still young and can improve a lot.

I was impressed when Usyk took Briedis' right uppercut-left hook combination, the same that flattened 245 lbs Manuel Charr and laid him out cold

Yeah Usyk spent too much time standing right in front of Briedis and tactically I think that was a mistake. He gave the fans a great fight by doing it but it was a dangerous tactic against a guy who has KO'ed heavyweights.

Briedis showed superb accuracy and hand speed and caught Usyk with some great shots. But he didn't have the engine to do it for the full 12 rounds. He did really well early but from the 4th or 5th round he was getting backed up by Usyk when in the early rounds he was the one being the aggressor.

Usyk's ring generalship for me was far superior. He was fighting the fight how he wanted while Briedis was forced back and try to steal rounds with bursts of activity. Usyk started countering more using Briedis' aggression against him, started to covering up and let Briedis punch himself out and worked the body to sap his energy.

I agree with the scores, and the fans should celebrate both fighters.
However, more than 1/2 the rds were close enough to have been given either way.

Only 3 rds were easy to Usyk imo, 3 to Breidis.
