This. Cotto never dominated a division like GGG has. He also mostly fought for vacant titles and got destroyed when he defended against top competition.

Holyfield never dominated HW but the much lesser skilled Wlad did. Cotto fought the best fighters of his era in a very strong era , GGG fought absolute bums from an ATG perceptive in a very weak era.

GGG destroys Cotto at 160 in a fight but im assuming the question is who was a better boxer p4p.

hmm wlad only briefly dominated HW, as soon as he tried to unify, he acheived it for sure, but got his arz kicked straight away after.

Cotto was a more complete all round fighter, Golovkin is better at what he does.

The predictable duo of Dino and Herol are once again here trying to **** all over a fighter when it's obvious that GGG > Cotto quite handily. If the argument is that Cotto can do more things well than Golovkin, then I say that Golovkin is superlative in those qualities that matter, and that's why he's a better champion than Cotto. Cotto got beaten down by Canelo. Canelo got beaten down by Golovkin. /thread.

the ony predicatable thing is you making that non existent connection. I have been a massive 3G fan and my posts are resplendent with my admiration for him.

Everyone but you can see it

Why do you have to fail this bad ALL the time?

Even Golovkin’s gloves never touched the canvas, let alone his knees.

Exactly this,in an age where PEDs has made cutting weight easy 99% of boxers are not fighting in their own natural weight class,Golovkin has always been at Middleweight and was avoided like the plague, had he had the level of competition that Cotto faced in his own weight class I’ve no doubt GGG would still of been unbeaten albeit some fights would of been closer as we’ve recently seen with Jacobs n Canelo.
Can’t think of any other fighter who’s been held to such lofty standards as GGG,it’s like some can’t accept him boxing his way to a decision.
Cotto an undoubted star who brought in the crowds in New York, had some mega fights albeit to fall short at times.
Cotto for me though showed his true class as boxer in his last fight,to carry on with an obvious torn bicep knowing he’d most likely lose, showed up what Rigo did against Lomo even more I thought.

Herol you are my favourite poster of all time.

I remember that one post you made ... when was it ... it was amazing. Your latest posts are not on the level of that one post.

In fact, they have been described by others (not me, your great admirer) as utter shyte. Now I can see a little bit why others would label your posts as pure excrement, I mean, they have a point, kind of, but not a complete point. Sure, your spelling might be crap, your logic non-existent and your turn of phrase woeful, but ... that one post was really good. Well maybe not really good, it might have just been 'ok'.

    But still.

I'm your big fan, don't forget.

I agree about respective opponents as so often in boxing it comes down to who you fought, now what you won.
That said after seeing GGG in his ripe old age defeat Jacobs n Canelo shows us enough to know how he’d of fared in his prime.
Cotto knew Golovkin was a step to far and as far as I’m concerned it’s like those who say Floyd Mayweather should of faced GGG were just being totally unreasonable as Golovkin is just naturally bigger than both Cotto and GGG.

Well that kinda answered this thread I’d say.
In all honest Cotto did damn well to go twelve rounds with Canelo that night as Canelo was visibly the bigger man by far, don’t ask me how Canelo ever made 154?

that is because gg has insisted in cleaning a pretty much clean division.
there has and is nobody there like when cotto was at 47. cheato, mosley, money, pac, clottey...that was a stacked division. how stacked has 60 been?
cotto could box, move and had a variety of styles that he could employ. i think a lot of seek\destroy fans like pac fans have flocked to this guy and it's a shame.
he ..like pac.. was a likeable fighter until his coach and annoying fanboys lifted them into valhalla.

its tells us that you base judgements on lies.

    Canelo 3G was a draw.

Canelo Jacobs was a decent defence.

Please dont pretend they arer otherwise. Lying about 3G debases his acheivements. The man just drew with an elite, thats a good enoug achievement without you pretending its something else. When you pretend its something else, you pyss on his achievement. Your post reads like you are mocking 3G.

So please dont do that again Angler, if like me you want 3Gs name to stay clean in our estimations.

As it stands, with Cotto a fair bit older than 3G, Cotto has done more, this is stone cold fact.
BUT MARK MY WORDS - 3G will by retirement outstrip cotto, I feel it. I feel he will move to another weight, add another elite, and win another title before retiring.
