Tyson Fury gets STRIPPED of his Ring Magazine heavyweight title
Tyson Fury had to announce a comeback fight against a high quality opponent in the Ring Magazine rankings by Wednesday in order to keep hold of his belt, but he has failed to do so

Was hoping that Warren announcement the other day was about his comeback fight. This particular title obviously meant a great deal to Fury so I hope being stripped of it doesn’t throw him off the rails..

He weren’t a real champion anyway. A real champion doesn’t get on the Charlie, avoid rematches and not fight for years.

This is a blessing for him. He can now take his time and have a few nice easy tune up fights as opposed to jumping straight in with a high quality opponent for this belt.

I suspect this might prompt Fury to jump back on the coke, kebabs and booze. At this point it's unlikely he will ever fight again IMO and good riddance to the biggest joker to ever be called heavyweight Champion

Hopefully he will shut up about being the lineal champion now! For the record I do still see him as the lineal champion but I'm sick of Fury talking about it all the time when he has done nothing to deserve that title for the last two years.

He’s beat one person (and yeah what a win it was) so I just can’t have him as any sort of lineal champion. Especially when that one person didn’t hold all the belts to begin with!

If he's not the lineal champion then who is?

    It’s still Lennox Lewis!

    Vacant.

If Joshua beats Parker and Wilder then he is.

    The right decision, ultimately.

I think the Ring should leave it vacant for abit until we find out if AJ - Wilder is going to happen in 2018.

    Under The Ring rules:

Fury should have been stripped after 18 months inactivity.

Number 1 (Joshua) Vs Number 3 (Parker) is valid for the now vacant Ring Magazine heavyweight championship.

He is, but at this point the "lineal champion" doesn't mean anything in the current scene. The lineage is a flawed concept as Fury has proven.

Its gotta be there for AJ Parker... Any belt being vacant or inactive for too long is bad for any belt. I think they've made him vacate so it can be up for grabs for AJ Parker.

Why would you wait for wilder, AJ is the one going out there to unify the division, wilder waiting for AJ to do all the leg work and will then try and scoop it all in one fight.

Me personally I hope Ortiz upsets all the odds, this is wilders first real test, which is ridiculous considering how many fights he has had
