Never been one for shouting about Health and Safety, but this is ridiculous. What price is this to go the distance? 1,000.0 I would imagine.
Can pretty much predict Adam Smith's commentary right now: "Price is exhausted ... He's turned his back! He's folding over, what is he doing?! It's over! Oh dear, oh dear!" And that's just during the ring walk. The Principality Stadium is quite large it's not a short ring walk. This is a genuine concern, should Price be airlifted or literally driven to the ring to preserve his gas tank?
Hearn's fault that drug cheats can prevail in the sport? No Hearn's fault that no one is advising Price against this fight? No Hearn's fault that it will be one watched and anticipated by both hardcore's and casuals? No Is Hearn even promoter of either fight? No
Price is mentally shot to bits, he's had is grit and determination punched right out of him, bad match up
What on earth are you talking about? Hearn is the promoter, it’s his show -he is the one who presents the options available to the fighters. If he didn’t want the fight then it wouldn’t happen. He wants Povetkin on the bill, as it covers him should Parker have to pull out. It also helps to push a potential fight in the future. Price is just the sacrificial lamb ready to be slaughtered - Eddie knows as we all do that he has zero chance but he doesn’t give a monkeys.
Everyone talking about Povetkin like he's this huge HW monster, a few years ago maybe but have you not watched his last two fights? He looked very average, probably a combination of him getting old and no longer on the PED's. He will still KO Price but if you think this fight shouldn't happen because it's not safe then we might as well end it with boxing now & turn the lights off.
Maybe, Povetkin is not the force he once was, but it doesn’t really matter as Price has a paper chin, zero confidence and an already poor defence which be made worse after the first round when his gas tank is empty. He doesn’t even have a punchers chance as he’s too frightened to let his hands go- it’s a terrible match up, and I will personally just be hoping for the best.
It's about levels. When was the last time Price beat anyone who is not a journeyman? Have a watch of his fight on IFL against Sokolowski. Then you'll realise he has no business being involved in a 12-rounder atm let alone be put in there with Top 5 world HW beast Povetkin.
I agree Price does have no business fighting at that level but we see far wore mis-matches in boxing on a weekly basis, it's the nature of the sport I'm afraid.
