Dorticos has very skinny arms....small biceps and absolutely no triceps. Imagine
if he had some muscle on those arms...

 

Yes, even if he loses a UD against Usyk (basically worst case as Usyk isn't KOing him out), he can comeback and win the belts back when Usyk goes up, or go up and be successful at HW. I'm sorry to say it, but I think he'd beat Parker.

 

Dorticos might've won at the most 3 rounds and I'm being generous. I had it 9-2 officially and 8-3 giving Dorticos everything. Complete obliteration from Gassiev in the end.

 

Great job by Sanchez making the relatively inexperienced fighter outsmart the far more experienced opponent.


Excellent fight. I wonder how long it will be until the casual fans and network execs figure out that the cruiserweight division is loaded with talent although after the tournament I suspect more than one of the participants will go to heavyweight.

Dorticos was tough. You could more or less see the end of the fight coming after Gassiev landed a pair of vicious left hooks to the body that would have stopped most cruiserweights but Dorticos didn't go down or give up. That's the sad thing about punchers, their KO power sometimes cause them to take unnecessary damage because their corner knows the fighter can turn the fight around with one punch.

 

I have to say this was my thoughts as well.

People think it' stamina that drugs improve, but it's pretty much strength and endurance that are made stronger the harder you have to work.

Dorticos lost a lot more snap because he took alot more heavy shots flush and Gassiev banked some great body work which slowed him down.

Gassiev was also evasive and did not take anything flush, most on his gloves and he moved his head to let the shot miss.

Dorticos did show an abnormally good chin in there, in fact an iron set of whiskers, but it did just catch up with him in the 12th, mainly because he was running on empty from the 10th onwards.

 

I agree, the overall production and fighters involved in the Cruiserweight tournament -- resulting in two awesome semi-final fights -- has made the Cruiserweight tournament feel utterly epic.

 

No but really, super impressive defense from Gassiev, but how the hell is THAT snot not a KOTY contender? How did Dorticos stood up? Is he okay? Damn!!!

It made me really nervous when he couldn't find and answer in rds 3/4...
I was thinking...
If he doesn't land several bone crushing combos each Rd, he'll lose on activity.

Guess early conservation paid off, and made for a closer fight as well

 

What a great fight. Both men deserve full respect. Looking fwd to the final (I favor Usyk) and to Dortico's next fight as well.

 

As I said, I hate when people say what I'm implying now. So I better stfu, I just dont want to do what I hate.

Props to gassiev's physical performance, it was outstanding.
