Yes we await footage of the Valdes fight with baited breath don't we lol. Still more stuff becomes available all the time so fingers crossed

 

I don't dispute that, but many other fighters or their mgr have had connections to the racketeering aspects of the mob as well. Nobody wanted Sonny as a champion, even prior to the Patterson fight, people ranging from Dempsey (saying Sonny shouldn't be allowed to fight for the title) to the President, wanted him to be excluded from this. Given the ties between Kennedy and the mob, I see a teapot calling a kettle black there. Sonny was a bit dour/grouchy but he was a fine fighter, and he deserved respect for this. I have doubts that the mob ever had to interfere to have Sonny win a fight ;-)

 

Love sonny. I brought his book not long ago which i need to start on.

I'm one of those idiots who rates Liston at number 3 heavyweight of all time. But then, I'm also an idiot who admits his bias. Liston was a beast. Gotta love a beast

It was a mystery when he actually entered this world, and most definitely his death is shrouded in mystery.

The simple inscription on his gravestone summed him up 'A Man'.
