I am surprised you could find highlights to last three and a half minutes. I was expecting it to last 5 seconds.

Good vid. Top guy Dave Allen. I'm hoping he can do the business this time against Thomas. Like Eddie Hearn said in that video and also at the press conference, he's done if he doesn't.

Remember when Dave Allen said he "outboxed Joshua" in sparring.

Yeah of course you did, Dave.

I don't understand all this talk about Allen getting huge favours from the Hearns. They've thrown him in with anybody, at any time. The beating he got from Luis 'supplements' Ortiz was terrible. The condescending way Eddie talks to him grates on my nerves as well.

It was a cardboard cutout of AJ and even then Allen took loads of punishment.

The big opportunity he got was getting Lenroy Thomas over for the commonwealth, which was out of pocket for Hearn, to allow Allen to get a belt to work from.

There is also the inescapable fact that Allen isnt very good, and if it wasnt for Hearn putting him in these shows, he would be fighting on far smaller shows and no one would know who the hell he was. There are HWs above Allens level today fighting on smaller shows and with no exposure at all.

Allen himself admits regularly on camera that Hearn likes him personally and this is why he is being given these chances, it has nothing to do with the talent he has or how far he can go.

I disagree. Hearn likes him because hes got heart. He can take a shot. He doesn't give up. He keeps coming and he's a likable guy that sells a ticket by engaging with his fans. Also Hearn brought him in as an opponent at short notice a few times and he put up a good fight and so (rightly) he feels like he owes him. Maybe he won't be HW Champoin of the world but he can be British/Commonwealth and who knows what else. Hes got talent and now hes applying himself he's worth supporting. Its a good story worth following in my opinion. Goodluck to him.

Dave Allen is a very very average fighter who simply hasnt and doesnt deserve another shot at the commonwealth title, he was shite in the first fight against Thomas and i have a feeling he will lose again

It's a well known fact that Joshua has lost every sparring session he's ever had. That's why he's known as the anti-Price. On this thread anyway.

He seems to veer between overconfident and not-a-shred-of-confidence at an alarming rate. I think his sense of humour might be a bit of a defence mechanism. Skill wise he's limited at the moment, but then he has been moved very fast.

A sports psychologist might be a worthwhile investment.

I reckon that might be due to his depression. He has suffered from it pretty badly in the past.
