Here's some Morrison highlights: This content is protected Check out 2:10. Combination punching at it's finest. Sets it up with a jab, right to the body an uppercut, and then a left upside the head. Baer would have ripped his own liver out to be able to punch like that.
Here's some Max Baer footage. He apparently won this one: This content is protected Check out the skills at 1:48. You don't see that anymore! Clearly trained by Mr Miyagi in the finest "wax on, wax off" tradition
Precisely. I can only imagine what the Louis who beat Baer would do to Morrison. Louis stated that the Max Baer fight was his best performance.
hes missing because the other guy is ducking weaving. nice try though, for you. Morrison is a lumbering club fighter compared to baer, so slow its a joke.
Is this an elaborate setup by the Classic forum in some inane practical joke? If not, then I can only conclude that this is a case where I'm the only guy that has actually looked at the footage, and everybody else is imagining their rose-tinged versions of either fighter. I mean ffs. Now we have Herol stating Tommy was slow WHEN COMPARED TO BAER of all people. Jesus Christ, what next. Herol's an idiot, but there's a bunch of people on the same track. Really? It's almost as if we're comparing one of those goofy WW2 tanks with all the Disney style turrets poking out and here's Tommy Morrison, in the guise of an Abrams. Modern, fast, ****ing terrifying. And everybody is going on about the M3 Lee and how it's got all these guns, y'see and how it could fight the PZ iv on even terms and and and When in real life Tommy would put a galactic beating on Baer, the same as an Abrams would shoot it's depleted uranium sabots straight through the length of a WW2 tank. Some folks round here need to get specs.
Baer's wide open defense is tailor made for fast, explosive combo punchers like Louis and Morrison. Baer gets knocked out or quits.
The thing I don't think you understand is that every guy in that Morrison video wa The thing about Tommy Morrison is this; just about every single fight he had, somebody was set up to lose. The vast majority of his opponents we're victims, even Bent. I reckon the only ''fair" fight he had was with Ruddock because they were both at a point where their only value was in the name. He, in turn, was fed to Lewis and Foreman, but the latter applecart was upset. Baer, at least, took competitive fights, where both guy we're trying to win. Morrison was a carefully marketed creation.
Morrison beat a single ranked fighter in his career. Baer would knock him out with an awkward right hand.
I'm not sure that the Louis stoppage of Baer proves anything. In my humble, Louis may well have been the best puncher of all the heavies (although certainly not the biggest puncher). Max's chin was solid. Baer by KO, middle rounds.
Ah, conspiracy theories. Is that where we're at? In reality, every good manager tries to match their fighter up favourably and hopes for him to win. Earthshaking news, I know, but, there it is. Baer was very well noted for his clowning around in the ring. His workrate was minimal and he relied a lot on simply blasting out smaller guys with his physical advantages. His best fight was probably Schmeling, where the German played straight into Baer's strengths and charged straight in, over and over. News: Morrison was about 20lb heavier than Baer and holds a much higher KO% than Baer over a heavier line up of opponents. He's a modern boxer through and through; his technique is excellent and he's able to use the jab; he's able to use angles and he's able to counterpunch. He's only got 3 losses compared to Baer's 13 losses. And then we have This content is protected , which amply demonstrates that Tommy is way ahead of Baer.
You mean the footage of Tommy losing all but one fight against guys who were top ten and looking fairly pathetic against the guy he beat who was ranked?
No conspiracy theory to it. Tommy Morrison was a carefully marketed and manufactured fighter. His only real victories are against an equally finished Ruddock an against an elderly Foreman, if he actually won that fight. I am no supporter of Max Baer, though his son was hilarious on television. But having a war with Joe Hipp and getting smashed by Michael Bentt does not scream greatness.
