Saunders on points. Dude fights up or down to his level of competition: he'd be up for Graham, and outpoint him in a wretched affair that would be poison to casual viewers.

Graham's curse is to always be the bride's maid.

I think Billy Joe is wily enough himself to catch Graham. Hard one to call. Hard to pick against Graham as Billy isn't a big puncher. Graham UD.

Graham was a choker in big fights, but he was just so much more talented than Saunders that I can't see him blowing this one.

Ask yourself this... does anybody think BJS could come close to beating Mike McCallum?

I see where you're coming from, but I have a hard time favoring guys who always found ways to lose their biggest fights against those who didn't. And Graham did, every single time. I'm gutted for his luck, frankly, as I'm a bigger fan of his. I have little doubt somehow he'd have been jinxed enough for Lee to catch and knock him out, whereas BJS beat him.

If we're looking at actual wins, Saunders has the better resume. I know resumes don't fight fights, but I think it's still worth pointing out since I think BJS really gets sold short.

I'm not sure Graham was a choker, you don't have to be a choker to lose to the likes of Kalambay (I thought Graham won the rematch), McCallum (just) & Jackson (what a shot), or even Brewer at the age Graham was when he fought him.

I think Graham would outbox BJS.

Its not the losses that bug me, it's that we're now handwaving away all of the defeats when the wins aren't there to justify it. It's not like he beat better guys than he lost to.

*Also, Frank Grant, not mentioned, was a much more relevant and worse loss than Brewer, which I actually do ignore.

Saunders can't outbox Graham, not a chance. As for who has the better wins, as far as I'm concerned he beat Kalambay in their second fight and even that version of Sumbu is better than anybody Saunders has beat.

So the guy who lost 5 times can't be outboxed?

    Makes sense.

Make a list of Graham's actual top 5 wins, compare it to BJS's, and I don't see how Graham has the edge (even if you'd like to switch a loss to make it look better).

We need to see more of Saunders, but he has very quick feet, and a Calzaghe like ability to hit his man and get out of the way. Graham wasn't that good, and often lost to the best he fought. So right now I'm picking Saunders.

If you have to say Graham was better based on his losses...that's a new one for me.

Who is Graham's best win? Can the posters who picked Graham please tell me?

And lets not let the record fool us, there are many journeyman and lower level fighters on Graham's record.

Bomber Graham might not have won s belt but he wins this one hands down .He'd have made Saunders look so one dimensional .Graham by wide points win .

Graham would get outboxed by wide decision. Let's not forget, BJS is a tough kid, and he can fight too. In fact, he can fight better than most people think, he just chooses not to. I mean, who did Graham even beat that's worthy of note? He lost a decision to McCallum and got knocked out by Julian Jackson. Isn't even in the same league as BJS.

BJS is one of the best boxer-movers ever in the middleweight division without doubt. I fancy BJS also against Graham's top opposition. I think he would beat Jackson and McCallum by decision. And BJS isn't even finished yet. I'd even fancy the out of shape, younger BJS that beat Eubank Jr to beat Graham by a close decision. If BJS is being pressured and in trouble, then I'd eat my hair if he didn't still come out on top against the lower world-level fighters of today. Gypsies can fight, people seem to be forgetting that. If BJS needs to win ugly, he can do that as well.
