Probably coz khans training in san francisco and doesnt have access to the kell brook fight.

 

Guarantee if he had faced Thaxton, Murray and Romanov he would have definitely have had at least one loss.

There was also talk of him facing Ricky Burns.. he was a candidate... but they chose Michael Gomez. back when Burns was a prospect and no one thought much of him. time proved Burns would have won that fight had it of happened.

and Alex Arthur was desperate to step up to lightweight to face him at the time.That'd have been another loss.

That's were Brook is different he fought Mathew Hatton and Michael Jennings McIntyre and Lomax and has always chased the all British fights.

I remember when Khan was starting off in the pro ranks. He made two very perplex and contradicting statements in the space of a few months.

He said by the time he would have had 20 fights his reflexes would that good that nobody would be able to hit him.

Then a few months later said he wanted to fight the Mexican way, toe to toe, el macho.

Fair to say he did neither.

Deluded man, I would happily watch the Brook fight but I have my doubts on Khan taking it.

 

Khan to me is the epitome of a fighter blessed with one of the physical attributes so many consider to be important to be a 'special' fighter but he never learned or developed the appropriate skills to allow him to utilise his speed.

Everything thrown fast, no change up. He's the fighter if you take his main asset away or knock in down a couple of notches he doesn't achieve half of what he has achieved. He could be timed and read easily within a few rounds, allowing opponents to set taps and bait him in to throwing certain quick shots only to counter him and he believed that as he had 'elite' speed that would be enough.

I'll never forget the Willie Limond fight. Limond had decent speed, neat boxer & tough but couldn't crack an egg in the ring but timed Khan time and again and eventually hurt him & should have stopped him. I watched that fight not too long ago again & Limond was very competitive vs the 'special' 'superstar' fighter.

If Khan had learned how to set up his shots rather than just rely on speed, use the jab to probe and bait to set counters with the speed he had who knows but I never considered him 'special' outwith his speed. People critique his chin but I was more worried that he was walked/baited in to the same punches/counters time and again.

Imagine prime Hatton vs Khan at 140, sheesh.

 

Fully agree, Khan was a very talented fighter who never fulfilled his potential.

And again his chin was not as bad as made out, his defence and concentration was the problem.
