We saw the recent video where aj looked much slimmer and showed off some hand speed. This may seem cool at first but i think parker might have gotten in his head.

Parker, if i recall correctly, kept making comments about ajs weight bulk, and stamina and even claimed he would ko joshua. Is this perhaps a reaction to parkers comments? He seems confident, but why change your strategy and weight plan for the first time in 20 fights?

Is it a bit risky to experiment with slimming down against such a big test and a unification bout? It reminds me of when foreman tried to prove he had good stamina by going the distance with jimmy young. Could aj be heading towards a similar disaster?

Maybe im thinking too much. i still favor aj to win regardless but theres this nagging feeling.

No. He needed to slim down and it’s good that he did it for this fight. He has to combat Parker’s speed and combination punching. If he stayed bulked up and beat Parker and stayed bulked up for Wilder, Wilder would’ve stomped a mudhole in his ass.

AJ understands it takes a lot of energy and oxygen to supply his huge muscles. He also understands he has stamina issues. Cutting some muscle will help with his stamina. Wilder proves one doesn't need to be 240+ to have punching power.

    1. Lets see what the scales say. Videos and pictures can be deceptive.

    2. He needed to work on certain areas such as stamina, speed an mobility. That could lead to some loss of mass. That is a good thing not a bad thing imo as he would be working on the areas that need improvement.

I cant see him coming in at a career low weight or anything radical. There is no experementation going on here. He drop and gains weight depending on his opponants and everybody knows he was coming in a bit big and his stamina was suffering.

He will be coming in lighter for Parker but it wont be massivly lighter.

I don't think he is making a mistake. There no need to be so muscle bound. It drains energy/stamina.
AJ was noticeably slimmer early in his career. This shows AJ's KO's.He really looked bulky in his last few fights.

His main problem is glass not stamina.

I agree with all the above.

My only concern is if its too sudden to experiment with slimming down right before his biggest fight to date?

Nope. Joshua needed to slim down for this fight. At hvw it won’t hurt him at all.
