Maybe he thinks Prograis would do to Taylor what he did to Indongo who is garbage tbh. People still sleeping on Taylor which is crazy. Taylor vs Prograis next up is mouth watering. I'd favour Taylor as he's more polished technically and I think he'll be tougher in the trenches as well.
I fancy Taylor strongly. But I don’t think Taylor will get the chance, I fancy the underrated Jose Ramirez to derail Prograis, provided Ramirez beats Imam. And I think he will. Prograis done the job last night but I’m no sheep, the hyperbole directly after a fight like that is nauseating to be honest. Hardly a flush shot landed to hurt Indongo who’s balance and coordination were poor from the get go. If Prograis has used some feints judging by Indongo’s balance, he might have fallen over himself. Prograis smothered himself at times, leaves himself open but he can punch. Good fighter and IF he beats Ramirez I might reevaluate but right now, I see Taylor outboxing and outfighting Prograis. Taylor looks more rounded and refined.
I agree mate. Prograis looks fine but not special, not even close. Taylor looks technically better at all ranges, throws straighter, physically strong and can punch. Indongo really was bad last night. I’d expect Taylor, Ramirez, Imam, Baranchyk and Lipinets to all do that to Indongo. Prograis-Ramirez tells us more and I pick Ramirez.
Weirdly enough Taylor v Indongo would sell far more tickets in Scotland than Taylor v Prograis purely because of how he toyed with Ricky Burns. I think Indongo would be a cheaper option would not surprised if this is Taylors next outing, built as 'Ricky won't give the Scottish fans they all want we thought we would go and get the sensation that best him easily so we have a mega fight' - This is the patter you would get to hook in casuals.
You’re right. But it won’t bring rounds, this guy doubles over every body punch. Imagine what Taylor does to him.
I think he's that unorthodox he would likely be very awkward early on and be dangerous. Think when Taylor found range he would our class and stop him may be between 6-9 rounds.
Taylor's aggressive as ****. He'd take Indongo's sloppy weak azz out early. Inside 3 rounds if he wanted too.
IMO Taylor hasn't fought a live top 10 challenger yet. I'd rather he fought another two decent world class opponents before fighting for a world title. IMO Indongo first and then an eliminator would not be a bad path.
I don't see any reason to fast-track him. Decent amateur career, 12 pro fights, a good win over a faded ex-champ and another over a prospect of similar standing. At 27 there isn't time to coddle him but he doesn't need to jump levels. He should have one or two more fights to bridge the gap to title level. I don't know an awful lot about Prograis. He does seem quite highly rated by some on the US forum. His amateur record is listed as 87-7. He was comprehensively outboxed by Errol Spence, whatever it's worth.
