5-0 Prospect Josh Kelly has more Twitter followers than either Charlo brother

How come the UK is so much better at building fighters than the USA? Josh Kelly is at best a prospect, has only fought on undercards so far, and already has a bigger profile than the Charlos. The Charlos being world champions and headliners of Showtime main events!

 

Tbf Josh is sexy as hell so doesn’t surprise me.

 

Quite easy to answer really. It'll mostly be Matchroom fighters that have a higher social media presence. Matchroom shows are shown on Sky, which of course means any Sky channel you watch will feature thes guys in their ad breaks. A lot of people watch Sky Sports News too and they get fighters to talk on there quite often.

I'm not sure how it works in US but given the vast amount of channels, fighters and programs available I imagine it's much harder to push in the way we can here

 

Nobody giving a **** about the Charlo brothers isn't a US-UK issue. Neither one did f*ck all as an amateur and neither one has done f*ck all as a pro. Add in that they talk like complete c*nts and aren't likeable or hate-able enough for anyone to give a sh*t, and you have your answer.

It's simple haymon does nothing to promote fighters just puts mostly poor fights on and pays them to much and takes his cut

 

I like the Charlo's, they have chips on their shoulders. Almost
young James Toney-esque. Of course their skillsets are nowhere
near his but still................ *shrugs*

 

Welcome to the UK boxing scene. To put very simply, this is the case with most British boxers because boxing is very popular in the UK atm and not so popular in the US. Tyson Fury cant even step out his front door without being swamped and he hasn't even fought in 3 years.

Just about passion and exposure, smaller country the Uk and we are passionate about are boxing, football etc.
Amercia have different sports that they are hugely passionate about with basketball, baseball and American football.
Doesnt mean much.
I have been US shows and UK shows and the difference is huge but each too their own, I mean am going GGG v Canelo May 5th but am more excited about going Selby v Warrington when I get back for the atmosphere and event.
