After the fight Warren spoke with Bob Arum and said it was up to JC who he would fight next. If Warren is now saying that Pavlik is not ready, that means that Warren spoke to Joe and Joe said no F**ing way, keep searching the senior centers or get me another reality tv phony like Sergio Mora.

Exactly, that has to be what happened. Old Warren kind of backed Joe into a corner. But you really can't blame Joe, at this point in his career.

Actually Arum was saying Warren said this right after the fight. Probably no time to talk to Joe in this instance. May have happened earlier. Will Joe go back on what he said in his autobiography where he says he won't fight Jones? Eat crow, not Pavlik's punches.

I don't blame JC for not wanting to fight Pavlik and instead taking the much easier fight with Jones for big money, but all the Mayweather haters should then equally hate JC for ducking the best opponents and taking the easy money. It would be nice also if all the JC fans would give Pavlik a little credit and quit saying things like "JC would give him a Lacy type beating". Unlike Joe who couldn't KO Lacy, Manfredo (legitimately), or Bika, Pavlik would KO each of these guys. I think most JC fans are secretly scared to death of Pavlik and have to constantly disparage Pavlik to try and protect their hero. If they really want JC to be considered some kind of ATG, then they should be writing him letters begging him to fight the best out there (that would be Pavlik for all you JC fans who might be confused and think it is Mora). Since his fans are so confident about JC totally annihilating Pavlik, they should demand this fight to shut up Pavlik fans like myself. I say bring it on!

Calzaghe's pushing 37. He's past his prime by at least three years, if not more. He will not survive a fight with Pavlik. He's lost speed, movement and his left hand is so fragile he can't throw power shots anymore. He's the best adaptive fighter there is, but age is age. Pavlik by KO>

I read the article in the mirror right after it came on line. It looks like Joe may duck Pavlik. He spent over 7 months calling him out, so if he doesn't fight him, that will confirm by opinion that JC is one of the most over rated fighters of my lifetime. Pavlik KO10 Calzaghe!

Don't tar us all with the same brush. It's becoming more obvious with every fight that Pavlik is a very dangerous opponent.

It's possible to be fans of both these fighters. If they met I would obviously be rooting for Calzaghe as I have followed him for a long time, but I can appreciate that Pavlik is a good fighter with a great attitude.

Calzaghe is ducking Pavlik. (At least according to the logic of Mayweather haters.)

Lol @ a three page thread based on an article in The Mirror!

Would be nice if people considered the source of any information before smashing their heads repeatedly against their keyboards and then pressing submit.

Hmmm, interesting, where are all the JC fans? Please guys, don't duck me. Tell me how overrated, overhyped, mechanical Pavlik is. Tell me how he is out of his league against the almighty JC, slayer of Manfredo, Bika, a 43 year old Hopkins (barely, and arguably he lost a close decision). Let us not forget the great Kessler who showed no heart and gave up after the 6th round. Now Kessler is fighting a cream puff just to get a meaningless title. My God, with that resume, how would you not rate him as top 50 ATG?
