Was Rondy Rousey active in 2002 when Tyson gave that interview?? Are you intentionally dishonest? This content is protected
Thsts false. Why would i bother reading anymore of your garbage when your opening statement with such a blatant lie? Yeah , thanks for defeating your ownself. . Comeback when you can formulate your own posts rather than cut n pasting off the HW Blog.
Err , no... Brewster and Peter were very poor mans versions of Tyson.. As in they came forward with none of the skill , speed , intensity or defense of Tyson. Those two did nothing better than Tyson , whereas Tyson did everything better than them. Klitschko does not better the triple jabs and uppercuts of Douglas because he does not throw triple jabs or uppercuts... He doesn't better Douglas on the inside because he does not fight or have any skills on the inside. He doesn't match or better Busters workrate because he does not ever over commit himself beyond a jab n grab..... Can you understand this?
if it's false, then it shouldn't be too difficult to disprove it by finding examples to the contrary, should it? Outside of Lou Savarse, which other heavyweight boxer did Mike Tyson OFFICIALLY KO / stop that was taller than 6 foot 3 inches in height, and had less than 25% losses out of their career record? If you can't find any, then it isn't false and the liar here is you and the one who is writing falsehood is you. Let's not pretend that Mariusz Wach's chin / punch resistance isn't astronomically superior to Mike Tyson's. Let's also not pretend that Mike Tyson has a suspect chin which has been cracked by 2 feather fists who have -50% KO record at heavyweight, shall we? Mike Tyson isn't even beating Mariusz Wach, never mind Wladimir Klitschko. Mariusz Wach walks through anything and everything Mike Tyson Throws, and proceeds to demolishing him just as badly, if not worse than Buster Douglas, Danny Williams or Lennox Lewis did. Wladimir Klitschko has proven that uppercuts and inside fighting is needless as a super heavyweight against short heavyweights like Mike Tyson. Thus, he doesn't need to do any such thing. Wladimir Klitschko has one of the greatest / most powerful left hooks in heavyweight boxing history. That'd make a need for an uppercut obsolete. If Mike Tyson comes close, he gets pushed away like a weak rag doll that he is. And he gets peppered by jabs from the outside and gets bombed out with a right hand / left hook by having his suspect chin cracked. Samuel Peter and Lamon Brewster are both 6 foot+. Ergo, comparing him to Mike Tyson is totally irrelevant. A better comparison is Jean Marc Mormeck who is closer to Mike Tyson's size and height. And see what happened to him!
I can see Tyson beating Povetkin due to a small size differential. Povetkin is like 6'1.5" and Tyson 5'10.5" according to gym measuring during his early career. 3 inches is not to much for Tyson to overcome. And Povetkin possibly could compete in Cruiser against the likes of Usyk and Gassiev if he really wanted to.
Alexander Povetkin has proven to be tougher, more durable and have more heart than Mike Tyson. Alexander Povetkin in nearly 300 combined kickboxing + amateur boxing + pro boxing bouts has never been stopped once. And has only been dropped once by Wladimir Klitschko. In tough fights when Povetkin wasn't at his absolute best or when he faced opponents with a stylistic advantage over him in Marco Huck, Eddie Chambers and Carlos Takam, he still found a way to win because he has greater heart, willpower and fighting spirit. Meanwhile, Mike Tyson crumbled at first signs of difficulties against the likes of Buster Douglas, Evander Holyfield and Kevin McBride. This isn't even a contest! It's been proven time and time again that when an opponent fights back and doesn't crumble after Mike Tyson hits them, Mike Tyson is the one who starts to crumble instead and has his will broken. That has never happened to Alexander Povetkin. EVER! Povetkin beats Mike Tyson in similar fashion to how Holyfield or Kevin McBride beat Mike Tyson. Povetkin is a horrible match up for Mike Tyson in every which way.
Big HWs Mike Tyson stopped - TKO2 -6'4 Conroy Nelson TKO1 -6'5 Sammy Scaff TKO1- 6'6 David Jaco TKO5- 6'5 Mike Jameson TKO1 -6'3 Reggie Gross TKO10- 6'5 Jose Rabalta TKO2- 6'4 Alfonzo Ratliff TKO6 -6'3 Pinklon Thomas TKO7 - 6'5 Tyrell Biggs TKO2 - 6'3 Tony Tubbs KO1 - 6'4 Carl Williams KO1 - 6'3 Henry Tillman TKO2 - 6'4 Andrew Golota TKO 0:23- 6'5 Lou Savarese.
I can see Tyson winning on points. And a prime (mental) Tyson stops Douglas in my opinion. It was a slow count after all. Douglas should have been counted out. Tyson are overrated by some but underrated by others. I see him against Povetkin as a close affair that could go either way. But Obviously Prime Wlad>Prime Tyson. Tyson's biggest enemy was size, and Povetkin doesnt have too much of it.
It simply wasn't as Tyson was undersized in pretty much every fight he won. His enemy was the uppercut and to a lesser extent movement , two assets Wlad does not have. Tillis exposed those weakness and Buster maximized on them.
They were durable and could take a good shot. Departments Wlad was left wanting in something fierce. Plus , Wlad did not do anything better than Tucker besides hit harder.
This is what I was talking about. I said it wasn't 2018, and it has nothing to do with Rousey. The question is when did Tyson say it. He doesn't look that old.
