I pick Joshua here, giving Parker about a 30% chance to upset. ***Here's what I think Parker needs to do to win.*** 1 ) Win the battle of the punch output in the majority of the rounds. 2 ) Be willing to get hit a bit to get into range. 3 ) Throw a lot of right hands; I think this punch lands on Joshua. 4 ) If Joshua is hurt, watch out for fouls! 5 ) Force Joshua to fight at a faster pace, especially in the later rounds. 6 ) Move around for angles, Joshua has some trouble with circular and lateral agility. ***If Parker does the following, he's on a path to defeat*** 1 ) Try to outbox Joshua at long range. 2 ) Try to cover up and counter, while Joshua scores on his jab 3 ) Rely on the judges to give him the closest rounds 4 ) Fight a slow to medium pace allowing Joshua to pick his spots, and save energy. 5 ) Fight in a linear path without footwork. 6 ) Fail to risk power punches.
Footwork will be the most important factor here. If Parker moves around and give AJ no rythym to dictate with his jab it might!!! be close here. Will depend on Parkers stamina, if he can do this 12 rounds. If his legs slow him down in the later rounds i expect a stoppage or clear rounds for AJ.
1. Get Tony weeks to be the referee. 2. Hit Joshua in the nuts half a dozen times. 3. Wait to Tony to wave it off and declare him the champion
The things i think Joe needs to do. Jab in quantity Circle around AJ Go to the body of AJ Stay calm and confident and to pace himself correctly
Going to AJs body early and hard for three rds, then mix it up body and head, the body shots are VERY important in this fight.
Parker has an edge in speed and stamina he has to make the fight about that. 41 year old Wlad looked great moving on Joshua - Parker needs to do that and keep a busy work rate to make Joshua keep up. He can win this.
Parker will hover just outside AJ's range, making quick darts in close and unloading with combo's. Fast movement confuses AJ. Parker will make AJ feel his power early and keep AJ from coming forward too much. Several flurries from Parker will hurt AJ, making him wary of getting hit. This is Gameplan A for Parker. I see it working. Gameplan B would be to take AJ late and wait for him to tire. Parker by KO
Let me add that we will see a lot of DOUBLE JABS from Parker as he moves inside - also a lot of BODY SHOTS. Quick combinations will give AJ nightmares.
Hardcore boxing fans gets excited about this fight, reality says he has no chance. Boxing is not like football/basketball etc, the chance for the upsets are very low. He will might (20%) go to the distance, but that's all.
He needs to intelligently tire Joshua out and take it to later rounds, then go all out when he gasses and stop him, like Wlad was supposed to pull the trigger but didn't for whatever reason. Joshua and his team no doubt know that this is Parker's game plan so he will come in lighter than usual, but I don't believe it will increase his stamina by that much.
