You definitely weren't alone with Bute. It wasn't uncommon to hear him referred to as "Calzaghe but with iron fists".
One that jumps out: I started to jump on the Tukunbo Olaijide wagon and it derailed faster than a train set on Christmas!
I'm not sure failed considering he made it to Bowe? Told everyone in 1994 Golota would win a title. After seeing 2 of his bouts on U.S.A Tuesday night fights. In a way he did beat up Bowe but no title...lol You can't really predict someone's mental problems...otherwise I would have been right. I maintained he was still going to be a champion even after his Samson Po'uha fight ...those who seen that know what I'm talking about.
El Feroz was legit with a good, solid career. He lost some heartbreaking fights but overall had a good career that many lesser fighters wish they had.
I thought Wayne McCullough was a hall of fame talent and was shocked when Zaragoza schooled him. Wayne had a nice career but fell short of what I was expecting.
I wanted to believe too lol. Complete disappointment. I just thought of a good one. Anyone remember Miguel Acosta? This content is protected
Erickson Lubin for me. Though it's clear he has shaky whiskers and doesn't start his lead hand back to defend while initiating a combination or flurry. Much like Khan, once he gets it in his head to start a combination, he follows through the entire sequence at his own peril. But at 22/23 yo, he's got plenty of time to get right defensively
