If AJ had signed with Warrren not Matchroom, would his career be any different?

AJ would under FW definitely be Southern Area champ by now and the new maximuscle pin up, but he’d still be driving a corsa RS and still working part time at Frescos stacking shelves and hanging meat carcass up on hooks in the freezer part and giving it the old dig now and then to keep fit.......oh I forgot and he would keep chickens at home to chase them around and catch one if he could. The day he catches one he knew was the day he would leave FW and sign for Eddie anyway.

 

At this point I don't think Olympic medalists even consider Warren unless Hearn hasn't made an offer. I don't get why Warren tries to compete with Hearn who takes a lot of credit for what Sky do for his promotion. BT is also huge but clearly they're not investing as much as Sky. Everyone good who's still with Warren is only there because of loyalty and I applaud that.

 

He would be WBO champion that I have no doubt

 

100% he would be a long reigning wbo euro champ and frank will keep mentioning a chisora fight as his big step up lol

 

He'd be a big name still but not as big as he is, and he certainly wouldn't have crossed paths with Klitschko or got a world title shot that early.
He'd probably be fighting in a European title fight or WBO final eliminator around now.

 

Promoting is a young mans sport and Eddie is developing more outside of the ring than inside.

The under Armour , JD etc all bring the sport forward.

Also Hearn is long term thinking , rather than fight by fight.

Its just evolution.

 

The reason AJ is as big as he is, is largely down to his early career and the way Eddie/Matchroom marketed him from day 1 to the masses!
He started on undercards on Sky tv, was taken all over the UK to appeal to the masses and the "risks" he has taken have been very calculated.

I think a btter question would be, Would AJ be world champion now if Fury hadn't gone?
I don't think they'd have gone chasing Fury early for the belt, i'm guessing they'd have tried to go WBA regular or WBC madatory like Whyte.

 

We'd be getting fed drivel along the lines of 'only 200 tickets left for a fight vs Sam Sexton at the Copperbox'

 

Personally think it would have been him fighting Andy Ruiz Jr to win the WBO instead of Joseph Parker. And the situation now would be that he's taking soft defences, and being lined up for a Tyson Fury PPV.

He also wouldn't have the same sponsorships, cash in the bank, or the same clean-cut image. He'd probably be trying to act more Mike Tyson on Frank's orders.

 

Would Warren even had the dough to get Martin over here to take that risk? Eddie had to pay through the nose to get Joshua that fight in the UK. Obviously it paid off but it was a gamble probably out of Frankie boy's credit limit.

 

He has paid to get champions over before in Roman Martinez vs Burns in 2010 and more recently Gervonta Davis against Liam Walsh. So when he believes in his man he does produce the money. I'm sure he would have backed AJ and paid to get Charles 'I walk this earth like a GOD' Martin over.

When Warren burst onto the scene he was up against Micky Duff and co and he was a breath of fresh air he allowed boxers from across the country to flourish where Duff was heavily London biased.
Unfortunately he became very cautious in his matches , it is hitting his credibility .You don't have to be a genius to Goggle Boxnation and see that it's not exactly booming.The BT initiative hasn't produced the turnaround it was suppose to do.
