Well let me just say this, im not really to much into MMA. But I like to watch it sometimes. Im more of a boxing fan but MMA is ok with me. Fun to watch both. But anyways, one guy that always caught my eye was the Mainiac. He was a bad-ass!!

How is this guy doing ? Is he to old or what?

He lost a title fight in the UFC and signed with a new organization, he will be fighting the guy usually ranked #1 in the world at Heavy.

Sylvia is pretty bad ass to beat guys like Arlovski,Vera,Cabbage,Ricco,Rothwell,Whitehead,Silva,Monson. Dudes got a nice little highlight reel of KOs. He might be boring but I respect the hell out of him he consistenly fights the best and does pretty well agianst them. I think he may give Fedor alittle bit of trouble.

Its pretty big its Fedor the number 1 Heavys first fight agianst a real top contender since September 2005. Sylvias style presents in interesting challenge. Plus its got the whole long time Pride Champion vs 2 time UFC Champion thing going on. Fedor beating Sylvia would really help sell a Couture fight even better to the American crowd.

I liked Sylvia when he first burst on the scene, but then I started to get down on him. His obsession with wearing his belt and other wacky things made him seem like a bit of a clown. I think the whole heavyweight champ thing went straight to his head. His style, also, started to slow down. He seemed only to fight for a decision by using his jab and nothing else.

But recently, he's been earning back my respect. His interviews have been more gracious, and he really seems to have leveled his head again. I think his last few losses were an important part of that, and he seems to be maturing mentally as a fighter.

Its a sister city with bettendorf where miletich fight systems is. Pat has a reputation around town as a great guy however. I think the only reason I'm not a huge MMA fan is because of the arrogance of some of the guys I met.( although I'm positive most pro athletes are this way) Bottom line is that Sylvia's an arrogant ***** and I hope one of his gorilla arms gets armbarred in about a dozen pieces.

I think he might have become a little more modest and grown up though. I mean getting your ass whupped by a 43 year old has to put a little dent in your ego

I just think he got the **** away from Matt Hughes... that bumps your maturation process up a few notches.
