100 percent Fra thats my point if the guys arent world beaters let them box each other and you will have a good nights boxing and entertainment that people will return to see again and again,Nothing lost in a good defeat for these guys,
THE GREAT ANDY LEE. So I think we can take it now that Andy mightn't be coming back and is fully retired. Was a bit surprised myself as I felt he still had a lot to offer and was young enough but it's probably easy for us to judge on this side. I must thank the man for a number of reasons, firstly for bringing professional boxing to Limerick which was all new to the majority of Limerick men and for us to have a live candidate for a world title and for ultimately pulling it off. He brought great pride to his people and we have a great sporting county but he brought us on a different path and what a ride we got, he was a true gent and always had a few words for everyone especially the amateurs like myself who wouldn't be the best at spotting great technique, my sons were nearly sick of following me following Andy when he was opening shops or new businesses around the city. The great trips away to New York, Las Vegas ,Manchester etc. will live forever and the making of new friends north and south. The vegas trip will be the one that will be remembered for years to come, there were a good loyal group of fans there from Limerick and a good few from new York and a sprinkle from Cavan ,Glasgow and Sligo. To think one of our own was the world champion was something very special indeed, when the ref stopped the fight we went beserk, we sang and danced throughout Las Vegas until dawn. Andy could have went down the route of name calling opponents and slagging everything about them which like conor mc and would probably have brought extra fans but not this man, he let his gloves do the talking. I think his best performance was the second fight against Brian Vera, he showed he could mix power will skill and defence and showed he could step it up with the best, the fight against quillin was a serious fight, he was a beast of a man and to knock quillin for the first time in his career was quiet a feat. A person once said to me we should all have heroes and he was right ,another man said you should never meet your hero as you would be disappointed but he was wrong. I wish the man all the very best in life and thank him for the special memories and hopefully will cross paths again in Limerick ,whether the Gaelic grounds, thomond park or the great greyhound track, thanks great man.
a busy weekend ahead 4 some of our fiters.... starting with Burnett defending his world title on the AJ undercard... also in Britain Geraghty and Meli are out ... stateside Quigley and Moylette are keeping busy
Still can't wrap my head around Lee vs. Duddy never coming off back in the day. Yes, yes, I know Duddy was (in hindsight) many levels beneath him and don't mean to insult Andy by bringing it up - but it would've been so damn lucrative, either in the Eire or Boston/NYC - not to mention fun while it lasted.

How did the fight turn out mate? Just kiddin! But what you expect me to do, not promote the fight as much as I could. It was always going to be a cracker and deserved the hype.
Youre a promoter so the clue is in the name, as i said in a recent post they seem very well met and small hall shows are a great way forward, Just let me say, there is a difference between promotion and delusion some of our boxers seem oblivious to this,
